Hiya Peta.
Glad you're back (Tho' you've been here all along - it's US who're back. . .aargh)
Anyway, I think you made my point for me by removing this.
Why can't I tell my friends about what happened to me at work?
(BTW my family are all various beautiful shades of mahogany and ebony - and yellow with slanty eyes - and my children and grandchildren are blonde and blue-eyed and I REALLY REALLY object to your prejudice, but since you haven't actually spat on me in the street yet - have some )

The BOG
Posting:
Oh my goodness gracious me. Oh ho ho ho. Greetings sahibs (and
memsahib). It
won't work you know. The great white bwanas will moderate us all out
of
existence.
Have you any idea how offensive it is to coloured folk to have all
you white
h*****s (or should that be 'h****s' ?) *waves white hanky*
(hankie) tiptoeing around on eggshells.
The noise is atrocious!
I tested a pet theory at work today.
The girl that brought me my cup of dishwater insulted its colour (as
usual) so I
turned around and said "But I like my coffee to be the same colour as
my skin"
and the whole room went quiet.
*WOW, she thought - what next?*
So I looked round at all the nervous faces that were studiously
turned towards
their desks and commented that all the black s****s and brown people
in my
family say I'm khaki (pronounced "kakky" up here in the frozen
north). (Well the
polite ones say "green" and the rudest w**s say "s**t coloured")
Funny the way all the fish-belly folks started talking and laughing
too loud and
all together. . .
Wonder what the mod.s will do.

Heinz - the reason Peta has not replied is because she is on holiday. Accept my apologies for the fact that I have not replied earlier, but in tryign to cover the whole system I have been a little snowed under. That is the only reason.
We take your complaints seriously and now that I have the URL I will look into it.
Once again apologies but it truly was nothing personal.

Sorry Abi. I got a little paranoid there It kinda comes from a lifetime spent being an embarrassment to the normal people, then thinking you'd finlly found some abnormal ones and suddenly being plunged back into thinking perhaps you weren't welcome after all (if that makes any sense?)
I do feel that it's important that we should all be able to use the nasty words lovingly, as it were. If we can call the oldies amongst us 'Boring Old Farts', Wumbeevil a "Scottish git", other people 'ignorant colonials' for instance, and we all understand that they are friendly insults, why does everyone start sweeping the conversation under the carpet as soon as colour is mentioned? (And by the darkie at that)
As far as I'm concerned that is one of the worst forms prejudice can take.
Please don't worry about trying to deal with it while you're so busy.
It was a deliberate shock tactic and proved its point, and we've all moved on from there haven't we?
(We just want the old regime back )

Hi Tefkat
We have reviewed the posting. We agree that there is weight to the story and that it has a place in thread, so we have unhidden the posting. However, we have starred out the words that constitute racial slurs as this is our policy.
Hope that helps and thanks for bringing this to our attention. Apologies for it not being dealt with before, but it slipped through the net.

Hi
We left hankies unstarred. We did, however, star out another similarly spelt word that could be interpreted as a racial slur.
Key: Complain about this post
