Ok, I've thrown together a brief page about the possible Son of Hypotheticon at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A558155. At the moment this is still in the planning stage, as Munchkin said. What we are looking for at the moment is expressions of interest, to see if we can get enough people to run something. Hopefully things should start firming up next week, as far as dates, locations etc. are concerned.

Right. Distant relation of Hypotheticon is go; it's called May Contain Nuts. More info at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A558155 if you're interested. If anyone wants a flyer ask me, as we ain't got a website up yet.

MCN in Glasgow - is it just going to be a 2 day drun... er... I mean party? or will it have the feel of a convention.
The reason I ask is that I'm more than happy to lie about in a drunken stupor for 2 days (ask my boss) but the wife thinks that a con should have events, GOH talks and things (by 'things' I don't mean the committee )
It's a real shame that Hypo 2001 is cancelled - the annual Glasgow Con is a bit of a tradition of ours now (we even ended our honeymoon at last year's Albacon) so we may come along to MCN - or maybe I'll send her to her mum's for the weekend

It will have all the silly con stuff we would normally do, but nothing that costs money. So no guests (well, real ones anyway) and a cheap DIY disco. There shoud be quizes, games, rubber inflatables, and I believe I have been pencilled in to run siege engine building, but it is all a bit up in the air. Also, to save money (as they just invented this a couple of weeks ago in a pub) they have only booked a little room, so it won't have a big membership. Well, that is all the information that has filtered down to me, but Jamie there is actually on the cabal, so may know more, but I doubt it

The intention is to have a proper (small-scale) "proper" con. If we wanted a party we would just have hijacked someone's flat, after all... Rubber inflatables? First I've heard of it. Still, we'll try and think of something
Quizzes there will be. Simon (fellow committee type person) seems dead keen to do the siege engines thing, so we should have that. Games - probably live action space invaders/worms/whatever. Live action Lunch Money will be a feature.
However, if you have ideas, we (the committee) would love to hear them. Bear in mind we are going from a standing start a few weeks ago, when we were moaning in the pub about Hypo being cancelled (or postponed, if you are feeling charitible). "Lazy bunch of gits", we said, "we could do better than that". And thus it started...

"...pencilled in to run siege engine building, but it is all a bit up in the air"
Being Siege Engines I would hope that at least something would be up in the air
