Bummer, your pals email address has been removed.
Whatcha gonna do about it?
Looks like you'll have to take names and keep people informed yourself It's a hard task, dontchaknow.
Only joking. Really, though. What are you going to do?
Maybe put a link to your original ad that you showed us before (looks like you just cut and pasted it from there anyway) on your main space.
You should be able to get away with that.
Give me more details as they come along. September is still too far away for me to think. One other thought is to combine the August meet-up with this perhaps? Could mean quite a number of extra bods through the door. Whatever.
Jools.

Waa! The email is specifically there, to allow people to enquire about this charity event. Grrrr Anyway, the link to the flyer is still there, from which further info can be gleaned.
As to a H2G2SGV3 at Hypo, I'm not complaining. If you fancy going, th eearlier you sign up, the cheaper it will be. Certainly I expect them to raise the prices after Easter, as that is a standard Con thing. It also means they know people are coming, which will chear them up immensely. Ah, well, off to amend the page.

I am assured by certain members of the Hypo committee that the official website will have some useful info on it, when they get round to wresting control of the passwords from certain other committee members...
I like the idea of H2G2SGV3 that weekend, as it pretty much ties in with my approach to Hypo this year. That is, turn up at the Ailsa bar that weekend and drink. If there happens to be a con running at the same time, so much the better.
Come to think of it, that's what happened at Eastercon as well...

I'll have you know that I have been honing (however you spell it) my frog building skills in preparation. I have every intention of taking part in Hypo. Of course, I don't get much option. Anyway, my lad, shouldn't you be in Ops, guarding the beer?

Jamie Posted Mar 16, 2001
I'll guard beer anytime, any place. Once I've drunk it it's pretty safe, I reckon.
Now where did I put that origami book?...
[email removed by moderator]
Jamie Posted Mar 16, 2001
Ahem. Of course that should be "book of origami". Although I admit an origami book would have some appeal. Might be a bit tricky to read on the bus though.

Like the advertising name. Thats what we need, more visibility. I put this page in to the Post as an article as well, so hopefully, we'll garner a few interested bods. More than the real committee is doing, I didn't say

Bother! Now the whole thing has disappeared to be moderated I hope I get an email from them soon to explain the problem. Perhaps I should emphasise the charity aspects to keep them happy?

Jamie Posted Mar 19, 2001
Hmmm - seems to be back now. I now have the image of some beeb employee sitting bemused as Neil does his helium thang.
I suspect the idea of cons may be a bit new to at least some of them, so maybe the aren't sure where they stand on this sort of thing yet.

Oi, Jamie, are you going to reply about picking up my thesis? I have to let my parents know today, preferably.

BTW SCI FI...effing SCI FI!!!!!
Whatever next it's SF.
Sparks in a rather foul mood.

Munchkin Posted Mar 21, 2001
The idea of a Sparks in a foul mood is scary enough to see me hurrying off to correct my terrible mistake.

Me I'm a pussy cat
Although having to mark undergraduate essays is a worse fate than I thought it would be. However the cash is paying for me to go to Worldcon so I'm sure I can put up with their ignorance

I am very annoyed to have to report that Hypotheticon has been cancelled this year, due to me being the only person finding members, and I'm not on the committee. Thank you all for your interest, may I recommend going to Mrs. V's Damn Fine Con in 2002.

Having never been sent an entry for Hypotheticon to put in ConNotation (a science fiction convention listing running since 1988), I finally decide to be proactive and track down details, and find that I am four hours too late
I've been to a Hypotheticon and it was excellent fun, and I was really hoping to come to this year's
Good luck with whatever happens in its place, and if anyone has details of other events that they want publicised then you can contact me at [email protected]
The listing is at the same site (but the house rules tell me that I can't put a URL in here so I won't, but if you were to accidentally type the domain name - sfcons - and follow it with a "dot com" you might find yourself there <grin!>
cheers

Yeah, it was generally bad (read non existent) publicity, and a general apathy on the part of the committee. All they had to do was get people in the room, and then us item runners would have taken over. It's enough to turn you to drink

Jamie Posted May 9, 2001
Well... it's possible something might still be happening. A few of the committee and some others here in Glasgow still want something to go ahead. We were discussing this last night, and we reckon if we go for a fairly basic con (two or three rooms, no guests etc) it should be possible to run something with oh, maybe 50 members or so. This should be possible.
