To Do List
My head just exploded,
Oh what should I do?
The number of jobs
Has just increased by two.
And now more are coming,
I can't keep it inside
I will not remember
I'll just go and hide.
I've hid in the cupboard,
I've hid in the shed.
The tasks are still growing,
I'll just go to bed.
I must take control
And not run away.
I'll just make a list
Of my jobs for today.
The list is now written
Neatly down on a page.
Each item is numbered
With a box for each stage.
A box for 'in progress',
A box for 'completed.'
Each to be ticked
Before it's deleted.
Now I feel safe,
My life's in control
I know just what to do,
And in which order to roll.
I sit down smiling
A cup of tea first,
One cannot start working
When dying of thirst.
Now I'm relaxed
My head starts to sway.
My eyes start to close
'Tis the end of the day.
The list is too long
To start it this late.
I'll do it tomorrow,
The jobs can all wait!
