Too bad you're not practicing today. I'm encountering the first symptoms of anti-workoholicism right now, seeing that Monday is approaching. Combatting these symptoms with alcohol doesn't work, I have tried that, believe you me!

oh, no! that's not what i meant. i was getting out of work by being at the doctor's office (while i'm at the real office posting this. it was an avoidance of 'real' work, see?). the doctor is in !

Pleeeeaase, I need something so that I needn't go to work. Any prescription short of a broken leg will do!

all you have to do is call your boss, and tell him you have to go to the doctor's office today.
wham! you're already here

Monsignore Pizzafunghi Bosselese Posted Dec 18, 2000
sorry, that was too late. He came first to call me before his desk immediately! Seems he knows some of the tricks already...

sorry, perhaps it was a gap in the time zones
that's why i'd like to get some assistants around here, but i *have* just opened.

oh, and I'm your first patient here. Does that mean your bill will be ...extraordinary?
the waiting room
broelan Posted Dec 18, 2000
hmmmm. i hadn't thought of a billing scheme yet. well, no matter, i can hardly charge you if i didn't succeed in helping you avoid work for a day, can i?
hope it wasn't too bad...

i have to w*rk tomorrow and wednesday too. but actually that is good for me. i do most of my h2g2 stuff while i am at work. i'm usually too busy when i'm at home to go online much. occasionally i log on from home, but most of the time it's just when i'm at work. so if you ever don't hear from me for 3 or 4 days, i'm on my days off, and i'll be back soon.

Ok, Doc. For me it's just the other way round, no private internet surfing at work, and flatrate at home. So if you just give me one large package of those green and yellow pills over there...?

i can't blame you there, i should have stayed home today. i've been out for a few days, so i'm just now catching up on recent posts, and i keep dozing off at my desk....,
there, just there! i did it again! sorry.

no, actually i need a doctor's note that it's ok for me to sleep past ten in the morning. my brain won't let me sleep until seven or eight in the morning when it's light, and i'm woken again at ten. could i get something that says i need to sleep?

Uh hi doc. There's nothing wrong with me, and actually it's Sunday, so I don't have to go to work. And actually I wouldn't if it were Monday either since I just run around after kids.
Is there a prescription for any of this?
