Cheers Matt, I've added that, let me know if you think it's ok.
"You don't like to see hookers going down on players like that."
Could you give me a breif explanation of a hookers please.
Matt, if you would like to choose your favourite from the list, with a brief explanation of what it's referring to, I'll add that too, three from Murray's list should be enough.
What I'm trying to do is make the Entry easily understood from non-sports fans as well as sports fans. I'm a non-sports fan, (I know what shape and size ball is used for what game, and the very basics, but that's it) so if I write in a way I can understand it, anyone can, I hope.

This is an interesting circuit because it has inclines, and not just up, but down as well
You've put that quote in twice.

Gnomon - time to move on Posted Aug 10, 2005
The hooker is the central player in a scrum. He has his arms over the shoulders of the players on either side of him (the props), which means he can lift both feet off the ground and "hook" the ball with his feet, passing it backwards to the players behind, so the the team gets possession of the ball.

Cheers Cyzaki, one deleted.
Cheers Gnomon, I think maybe I asked the wrong question as I can't mentally connect what you said to;
"You don't like to see hookers going down on players like that."
Is Murray referring to a scrum collapse?

DrMatt Posted Aug 10, 2005
He's referring to a similar sort of tackled ball situation to the other quote, I think. You could round off the Metxted section with something like:
With people hypervigilant about what on Earth was going to come out of Mexted's mouth next, comments that may have been let go if said by another commentator suddenly became hilarious, like 'He's looking for some meaningful penetration into the backline'.
I don't know if the 'come inside me' double entendres would survive a subbing, funny though they are.

Gnomon, I've found a slightly different version of David Coleman's howler. I might change to that.
"And there goes Juantorena down the back straight, opening his legs and showing his class."
Matt,(or anyone else) I'll get back to you previous post later. I've found some more info, for another one I'd like to add. I've tried to guess at what is meant by "pumping" would this be accurate?
"One of Mexted's most memorable howlers was during the 1998 Super 12 Hurricanes match. He had been involved in encouraging and promoting Martin Leslie when he blurted out:
Everybody knows that I have been pumping Martin Leslie for a couple of seasons now."

Oops. Hit the button by mistake!
My personal favourite has been attributed to both Tony Blair and Paul Gascoigne: "I never predict anything, and I never will do"
In football, the current world leader is wor Kev, better known as Kevin Keegan. Have a look at all these!

Cheers for that Master B
A section on football has been added, if you'd like to check it is okay. What I know about related issues you could write on a postage stamp.
I will fit in your favourite. What's Gazza doing these days, has he retired from football?
And your name has been added to the list.

Master B, I just hope I can remember why I asked that
Adding some more to this, if anyone's interested.

Master B, I've taken the snooker howler from your Snooker Entry, are you sure the pink ball was behind the green ball? I always thought Ted said the pink ball was behind the blue ball.
Anyone know if it's green or blue?

Gosh. Someone reads my Entries?
You want Number Six, dear. He contributed the quote in the first place.

Sorry about the delay Emmily...
Yeah, you've got the hang of Mexted's Martin Leslie comment. That's what he was on about.

FordsTowel Posted Sep 2, 2005
I have, regretfully, had to remove my name from the entry's contributors list.
I do recall now that the game to which I referred was on the radio when I was in Detroit Michigan, USA, and that it was a baseball game involving the local team, the Detroit Tigers. All other details are lost, I'm afraid, except that it was sometime in the '70s or '80s. Not a lot to go on there.
If I can verify the details, I'll bring them back.
It's looking really good though. Especially liked the one about the Spice Girl! (which spice was she again?)

Fords
We could go on adding to this for months, I think there is enough there now, apart from the 'cricket leg over' could someone help me with that please? I've listened to it a couple of times, but don't understand what is going on, and how to explain it.
Opinions on whether this is almost finished?

Fords
I waited over a week and no one replied (except Fords) so I've added as best I could about 'leg over' and am about to submit this to PR.
See yous there
