History
You can't drive a mile around here without running into a historical marker. I think there's more appreciation of history down here as well. There are flags that display a reminder of the civil war. People gather together and perform in civil war reenactments. I think that's pretty cool.
We should appreciate our history.

I agree with you. The Civil War reenactors have it totally right: they celebrate our history, while remembering that it's just that--history. Having just come out of the SC Confederate Flag scandal and having worked with them at Archaeology Day, I am truly impressed. I like our sense of history, being a museologist . Material culture!
