What if the puppy was hit in the road by an atheist?
The quiz brings back sad memories. When I was 16, I saw
my puppy get hit in the road. My mother and I rushed
her to the vet, but she died. We did all we could.
Now, would I save the puppy in the quiz? Sure. But
why wouldn't it be okay to also try to save Douglas
Adams, even if there is a chance of failing? One should
at least try, that's my opinion.
I would never giggle at a road accident. There was a
really bad one just down the road from my house the other
day. Not having any expertise in medicine or CPR, my only
chance of helping is to pull over and let the emergency
vehicles get through.
"If someone confides that they are an Atheist, what would you do ?"
Well, first I would congratulate them on their total
honesty (the world could use more honest people).
There's no need to "b) take them off your Christmas card list."
Christmas in America was reconstituted into a pagan holiday by
four eminent Victorians: Washington Irving, Charles
Dickens, Thomas Nast, and Queen Victoria herself.
Non-Christian nations such as India and Japan make
Christmas an official holiday. Even the atheist Marxists
allowed Russians to welcome Grandfather Frost
(who looks suspiciously like Santa Claus ) on
New Year's Eve. So, Christmas can be celebrated
as a religious or non-religious holiday.I like "c) Show
some understanding." The world needs all the understanding
it can get.
If you could think of a way of bringing eternally world peace ?
I wouldn't do "a)" or "b)," but "c) [Seek medical help]" is
unclear. Am I seeking the help for myself or for the world?
If the former, am I presumed to be crazy? If the latter,
does this mean better medical care is a sure route
to world peace? What about the moment when the bills
start to arrive? Keeping the peace will be tricky then
"If you won the lottery, would you ?" Moot question here.
I don't buy lottery tickets, so winning is not an option.
"a) Buy 8/10th's of the worlds water supply, and bump the
price up to $5 a litre." No, I would build plants to take the salt
out of seawater, so everyone would have the water they need.
"b) Become a professional Miser." I already am, but I can
be generous, too "c) Give a large sum of your money to
the 'Bankrupt Millionaires Charity', so they could have
good caviar." There is a black market in caviar in Russia.
If poachers drive the surgeons to extinction, there won't
be much caviar for anyone. Fortunately, we'll still have peanut
butter which is better for your cholesterol levels.
"If you have answered C to any of the above, you are worthy
of joining our ranks..."
I am qualified to find people in need of information and help
them. So, sign me up.

Hello Paul H.
You application has been noted and I must say I enjoyed your post.
I'm a little worried about thes though
"If poachers drive the surgeons to extinction, there won't
be much caviar for anyone."
Watch out for a "Secret Heavenly Business" thread on your personal space.
