Just a Thought...
TheOkapi - Sensitive Scout...So Do It PROPERLY! Started conversation Jan 14, 2001
...and I've had several in the past couple of days......yeah; I remember reading this somewhere, and I remembered it a moment or two ago and thought I'd like to share it with somebody:
" Time is the greatest teacher; unfortunately, it kills all its pupils"
Maybe you know who said it, but it made me sad and yet, thinking about it, there is a certain hope in there, because if we recognise the truth in the saying, then we are on the way to learning something before we die, or wipe each other out...or am I being overly optomistic?
I don't think so!!

Life is a fatal STD... No reason not to be happy in it though.

No one ever experences death.
Why be sad that you wont exist
in the future your not sad that you
didnt exist in the past.

I noticed that Prez Bush II has stated that he intends to pull the USA from the 1997 Kyoto treaty on combating global warming .

I am very, very, very angry with the evil dictator bush. Any Americans who have the chance should be screaming at him to change his wicked ways. i hope the EU and the rest of the world boycotts all US goods and services in protest. i hope that he will see the error of his ways. If not, the consequences will be very scary.
GGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrr!
Does anyone know any good transatlantic curses? Can we wish him another, bigger boil like the one he had during the vote counts? perhaps a voodoo doll? Or a mass exercise in bad vibes and farts in his general direction???

perhaps he will have a moment of clarity and run screaming into the ocean. Total mental implosion.

You are all dreaming...
Prez. Bush II will continue to be a self-centered and self-serving, myopic, obstructive, opinionated, hypocritical bigot.
He is clearly not aware that the US are part of the world, not its centre.
Look what I found in my Webster's under the heading:
bush adj: falling below acceptable standars: unprofessional
Bush

Surly he will cause a
swing to the left at
the next Us elections
I mean even Americans cant
possibly like him
can they?

Depends on how many total idiots and hopeless maniacs there are in America.

No offense to any Americans, regardless of political affiliation. But the problem of an uninformed/narrowminded/apathetic public is in my view one of the greatest problems for democracy.

purplejenny Posted May 6, 2001
Yeh , well, US society, media and education are hardly designed to produce free thinkers. Its a deadening culture of acceptance and apathy, with a few lone voices od dissent.

Willem Posted May 7, 2001
Things change. Apathy today, commitment tomorrow; power today, powerless tomorrow. The wheels turn; what is up, soon comes down. The Romans had their day, and then it was over; the British had their day, then it was over; the Americans had their day, now it's coming to an end, and a bunch of new guys will get their turn. The wheels turn slowly, but humanity as a whole is indeed moving steadily forward.
