I'd always assumed there were things that, once I'd attained, would give some magical bliss state that would last for the rest of my life. But as I've got older I've realised that, in life, whatever happens to you, you still can only perceive one moment at a time, with two eyes and two ears, and that the values we put on things are mostly in our heads.
