Talking Point: Your Biggest Disappointment

Interviewer: What's your biggest disappointment?
David Brent: Alton Towers.
New Year's upon us and hopes are high. Many find New Year itself a disappointment, what with all the expectation heaped on trying to have the best possible time in the hours leading up to midnight. Is it any wonder so many of us end up disappointed?
Whether you wanted to play at Wembley and haven't, have won Countdown and felt short-changed by the prizes on offer, or have felt - like David Brent - that the UK's best-loved theme park failed to live up to your expectations, we want to hear about it.
This week, we want to know:
What was your biggest disappointment?
Can you think of a film or book that ended in a way you have felt especially cheated by?
Is there anything you wanted to achieve in life that you've now given up on?
Who or what do you think is profoundly overrated?
Do you think that disappointment comes from focussing expectation on specific things instead of concentrating on now?
Do we expect too much?
