You are posh Ash
I was actually born in Kent but moved here as a child so consider myself more Scottish than English.I do sound far more Scottish than English now
Hey Flakey have they found you a replacement for your Flash yet ?
ME
flakey-lady.... you lookin' at me punk? Posted Oct 11, 2005
so ash do have an oo arr accent then...my daughter spent 3 yrs in fishponds [the place not a pond] and she would find herself lapsing into the bristolian....
no flash replacement as yet.... i didn't expect them to as they are all so totally useless...[management that is]
hey the tooth saga continues...well the pain never fully went away.. i was being hopeful..just thought they were sore due to having work done... but had the worst toothache yet last night...toddled back to dentist and finally we identufy the culprit as my wisdom tooth...
it was sending pains along the gum so i thought problem was more on side gnashers and not the back blighter...there is no infection so we are seeing if it will settle with lots of sensdyne being applied.. but might need to come out.......... see i wasn't imagining it..
probably got another night of pain ahead i need to get

Toothache again Flakey it least they know where the pain is coming from now!
Are you excited about your trip to NY ?,have you packed yet ?,and are you doing your christmas shopping there ?
ME
Ash Posted Oct 12, 2005
It depends Flakey, if you talk to me on the phone apparently I'm very posh... If not then I'm just tad rough...However I know of no other person that has used the word eructation recently, do you?
Hope the tooth improves.

from 4pm of tommorow....that tooth will be no more...having it out...also got to go to work at 5.30, but dentist doesn't think it will be a problem... heres hoping..gulp.
haven't packed anything yet but have planned most of my outfits, not that i am a very dressy person anyway... i've been concentrating on the fact that it will be very cold..or so i'm told, however the weather has been unseasonably mild over there last fewweeks.....layers of clothing perhaps being the best bet...
don't expect to be on a xmas shop as such, looking out for something nice for my young daughter and grand daughter...sadly the xmas lights won't be on...the cost rose quite a lot for the xmas period...and we are budget girls
ash theres nothing wrong with a bit of rough...i am quite partial to a bit myself being quite posh [ish] from birth...its been all downhill since then...ha ha

xxxxxxxxxxxx Posted Oct 13, 2005
Flakey you are going to work after an extraction*shudder at the thought*
But hey no more toothe pain .I bet your could have paid for another flight to NY with the money you have spent at the dentist lately
Definately go for layers of warm clothing
I do not know many people who aren't on a budget but it makes life interesting
Partial to a bit of rough Flakey Posh

hiya wilda
yes just finished my shift..but i took it easy on the dentists orders..
tooth extracted at 4.30.. and i was in work 5.30... i could have done without the shift to be honest...feeling quite fragile, but my works are bas***ds about sickness, so i got thru the shift knowing i'm off till mon now
any plans this weekend, any fun on the agenda??
ME
xxxxxxxxxxxx Posted Oct 13, 2005
did it hurt or did they fill you full of novacaine
No fun on the agenda am afraid I have done hardly ant revision this week so with my exam looming I have no choice but to study*sigh*
Will make up for it later
What about you now you are pain free any plans for fun?
ME
flakey-lady.... you lookin' at me punk? Posted Oct 13, 2005
full to the brim of novacaine.. she gave me 2 injections and it didn't hurt... but i was alarmed by the sheer forces going on inside my mouth...digging twisting aaarrgghh.. i found it all very barbaric.. but thank god for pain relief, imagine in the old days?
i've actually been a little weepy about it, sort of a horrible ordeal, i hope its all over now... 2 fillings and one extraction later...phew.
probably go to the pics again see howls moving castle...so nothing too exciting to report.

I wanted to see that one, but they had stopped showing it here. Was only around for a couple weeks...got arthouse showings.
Hey y'know what? I found a 4-leaved clover (again) today.
ME
xxxxxxxxxxxx Posted Oct 13, 2005
2 injections ouch hope you didn't bite your tongue! bet it made you dribble
The way british dental treatment is going it is returning back to the old days when people couldn't afford or get a dentist. It makes me
I haven't been to the pictures in ages Enjoy
ME
flakey-lady.... you lookin' at me punk? Posted Oct 14, 2005
hope your clover brings some nice luck for you thorny
its getting a bit worrying about the new changes coming into force next april regarding dentistry...i remember when eye tests were free, and university courses were free...blame labour for that....
it is getting back to the bad old days.. the haves and the have nots...saying that we all have so much really in comparison to poorer countries...
i love the pictures.. its a perfect night out for me.. and a meal... not too hard to please.
thanks for the popcorn wilda but can't eat much of the stuff.. i always choke on the shell bits...cue me coughing and gagging loudly in packed cinema....giant buttons are a fav treat, melt in the mouth

MMMMMMMMMMnnn chocolate
So you are a 'cheap date' in monetary terms only Flakey
Don't set me off about politics and the wrongs in the world *sigh* it will only give me something else to lie awake worrying about
Did fall asleep eventually last night but had a nightmare about the plumers fitting my new shower and woke up in a cold sweat convinced the house was flooded
ME
flakey-lady.... you lookin' at me punk? Posted Oct 15, 2005
i've had that dream too... where theres water falling thru the ceiling.. then the one about all my teeth falling out...you lot must think i am teeth fixated
another recurring nightmare is moving back to a house that holds a lot of sadness for me although i only lived there a year.... i get this dream quite regularly... i suppose i moved around a lot with my ex... but i've been in this house now for over 20 yrs and i'm well settled and happy here...so the thought of going backwards in time gives me these anxious dreams/nightmares...
anyway is the shower all plumbed in now?? there is another use for a shower head i've heard about... might relax you chuck?
sleep well

Thorn Posted Oct 16, 2005

Has anyone noticed the weather?
It's mid-October and we still haven't had a frost....
When I was in my teens I used to go fishing this time of year and we had to break the ice on the lakes...
Yesterday I was out in just a tee shirt (and trousers of course), I still felt warm...
ME
xxxxxxxxxxxx Posted Oct 16, 2005
We have had a frost, several in fact but today was warm and mild
Flakey am still only getting quotes for the shower all the work has still to be done.
Thorny Malcom X led an interesting life read the book of his life story just recently and found it quite absorbing

Ash Posted Oct 16, 2005
Wasn't Malcolm X assassinated?
Strange how many Americans with a reasonable point end up that way, in Britain they tend to end up hung by their private lives or their dreams may be shattered on the shoals of bureaucracy, I can't recall that many British politicians who were shot (Ok, a few were blown up but really that was a bit indiscriminate and just made them martyrs..And got dear old Mags elected once more....).
Winston Churchills dad died of the pox if that's any help
On the weather once more...It's October... Temperatures down here are still in the 20's...Seriously half the trees are still green...
It should be a world littered with dead leaves frosted with ice...
Puddles you can step on to make them crack... Frozen ruts in the road you can jump on...
Breath turning to mist in the air...
A drop forming on your nose....
Red faces and red hands that hurt like anything when you run them under the tap to warm them up....
Your Mum warning you, you'll get chillblains if you do that sort of thing....
I could have gone out sunbathing today.
