Ya, y'canna beat the old standards, eh wot!
I spent several happy constructive moments in my own mind trying to write more verses but ran into an old problem with the original lyrics; the song was so popular it was covered by many of both gender persuasions. One man's version might talk about being in curls while another talked about short pants - and that's without even considering the problems of the original translation into English.
"Will I be winsome,
will I be a bitch.
Here's what she said to me..."

You said: "Science began to become a substitute for religion way back in the Renaissance when 'intelligent' men sought answers to questions religions were afraid to ask"
I am sorry.
As far as I understand, it was Darwin who propounded that the first living creature evolved in a “warm little pond.” Today, almost all evolutionary biologists will privately admit that science has no explanation for how life evolved.

Care to elaborate, The Covenant'? That's not my understanding. There's plenty of theories relating to how chemicals can start to reproduce themslves, replicators, and how this over millions and millions of years could have led to early life. I haven't come across the theory that it started in little ponds though.
But I'd like to know where you have got this information about the private admissions of evolutionary biologists.
Until it can be shown conclusively and replicated in the laboratory, they are just theories. I wouldn't be surprised though, that at some point in the future, this will happen.

Hey emo! Now that you know which came first - the chicken or the dinosaur egg - here's a little mind blower for you: Didja know that most (and that means almost all) life on this planet is too small for human eyes to see? So maybe we shoulda waited until after the invention of the microscope before deciding that god was dead, eh wot!
peace

Well, I can only hope you're old enough for this, but the truth of that old joke is and always will be:
The rooster.
Eggs by themselves never become chickens without a rooster.
