Well there's three basic things: <./>Read</.>, <./>Talk</.>, <./>Contribute</.>. We're building a guide to life, the universe and everything, so you can explore our categorisation system: <./>C0</.>, or pick a <./>RandomEditedEntry</.>.

You change your skin and name on the 'Preferences' page (there's a button at the top of the screen; or go here: <./>UserDetails</.&gt. You can also write yourself an introduction: <./>UserEdit?Masthead=1</.>.

You probably also want to take our tour: <./>DontPanic-Tour</.>

1) Click on preferences and give yourself a nickname

2) Write a short introduction on your personal space (edit page button). This will enable people to contact you, including one of our ACEs who will formally welcome you and leave you some tips on getting around.

Therafter it really depends on what you hope to get out of the site.

Subscribing to one or more of the main forums, like <./>askh2g2</.> or PeerReview is a good start. Then just join in any conversations you fancy!

And if you need any advice, just shout.
