my thoughts on this subject is..
all the leaders of ne state are on about is bomb this place bomb that place WHY ???
is this wot the children of these times have to look forward too but WAR??
i have 3 daughters and i wish for them a life time of peace not all this war and unrest..
yes saddam is a total fruitcake but u could say that about bush and blair too.
they are all defending each other and not thinking about the normal person the boys who have to go into these counties and figtht their wars for them..
ppl like us the common man..
why cant the leader of stae sort it out themselves without making out brave boys and girls do their fighting for them..
sorry to go on but i do feel very strongly about war.

Purple Moose - He comes, he goes. But mainly the latter...

George bush is a warmonger, all he wants is war, he's already had 1 since he came to power and now he wants a second.
Originally he said that if they don't let weapons inspectors in they will fight him, now he has let them in and Bush is STILL going to fight him.
I say the rest of the world should just let the US and Iraq destroy each other and if Tony Blair follows Bush into this war I'm going to leave the country.(or at least try.)

I believe that there is some good intnt on the behalf of Bush as there could be so much damage caused by the weapons that Sudam is harboring. The only reason that Bush wants to get into Iraq is because Sudam is pure EVIL, this is a person who tests chemical and biological weapons on his OWN supporters. If he is capable of this do you really think he'll let the UN inspectors see all of his weapons!?

Trying out chemical and biological weapons on people is nothing new.The British Army conducted various tests on Soldiers during the war to gauge their effectiveness and the MOD have been sued by their victims as they were decieved into agreeing for the tests not knowing what they were being exposed too.
As for this issue on Iraq, the bombing has never stopped since it started only a few weeks ago 100+ planes US and British did a bombing run on a supposed Iraq military instilation, but its funny how no proof has been presented to the public as to its effectiveness,or any evidence shown that they were correct to take the decision to attack that site.
Or was it another innocent group keeping sheep again as they have been known to drop bombs on sheep as well.
Just because the world is focusing on somewhere else it doesn't mean the war in Iraq ended,It didn't.

This is very interesting. If you have any more information on this subject please post it as there are two sides to every story and it seems that I am only seeing one and a half.

What I'd like to know is are Bush and his lapdog Blair seriously proposing to attack every tyrant who has a grudge against the West? Or just those who have oil fields?

At the beginning we were told that Sadam Hussein had used chemical and biological weapons on his OWN people and when he invaded Kuwait the Gulf war began.
We were not informed until afterwards that some of the bombs dropped in Iraq contained Depleted Uranium which will and has caused radiation related illnesses.Subsequently along with the sanctions imposed on Iraq at the supposed end od the Gulf war 1000's have dies and continue to die due to lack of food, medical supplies and specialised medical assistance accompanied by further bombing raids produceing more victims, men, women and children.
We have now been told by Bush and his spokesmen that Iraq has biological and chemical weapons that he plans to use to attack the west, but this did not achieve Bushes aim of Global support for a pre empive strike on Iraq.We were then told that Iraq was working on nuclear weapons to use on the west in his hopes that this upgraded threat would produce the desired results of Global support for a military assault on Iraq.
Recent information from Iraq says that the American troops are ready for a military attack and on standby.
Men and women from the British forces are still posted to this region as part of their "tour of duties".
However please bear in mind that Arab leaders have stated that should the USA attack Iraq then all hell would be let loose in the middle east.
With Muslim people also liveing in the US and Britain it would also lead to tensions within the community's in which they live.

Not all of the shortage on medical equipment can be blamed on the UN as the UN approved and made good on a substantial amount of money and drugs for the use of treating illness and poverty. Most of this money and medicine was help up in Bagdad on orders of the government and the military. If you want drugs you have to by them off of the government at a highly inflated price. This is not to say that the UN was in the right, but they weren't all wrong.

I agree, there is good and bad on both sides.
The UN are asking America for evidence before giveing support to a military strike on Iraq, however the US either cannot or will not produce this evidence.
Some of the information comeing out of Iraq may be propaganda to bring united support behind Iraq from muslim states.
But in the end the result is always the same. The leader's wage the war,the military's fight the war and its the innocent who pay the price.
Isn't it time that people grew up and stopped these playground bully tactics.
The basic fact that people should wake up too is the fact that if Bush does attack Iraq then it will be the beginning of an East Vs West world war.Is this what everyone wants? Because they are going the right way to getting it.
But I think you can safely say that the majority would say No.The leader's however don't care what you do or do not want, they will go ahead anyway. So I will do what I do best and Survive.

Maybe it would be best if europe or eurasia would just boycot america.
That would teach then they can't solve everything with military force.

Only just found you - new here you see.

My thoughts on the whole Iraq problem is leave him be. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I do believe that America used 9/11 as an excuse to go and attack Iraq. Perhaps he found his fathers mistakes too much to bear and wants to put the records straight. I think they should have sent in the SAS first time round and got rid then, they didn't so should live with the consequenses.

My mum told me that some time ago, Israel bombed Iraq because they thought he had produced nuclear capabilities. If this was the case then if Israel thought for one minute that Hussain had any where near such capabilities, then they would attach again!! Would not like to be his neighbour.

In my opinion, America and us have their defences far too stretched and if an attack actually came, what could we do?smiley - erm

Blair should beware of what is hiding behind the burning Bush.
Much like Thatcher he is looking to stamp his mark and get into the history books.
What better than a war to distract the world from his own peoples misery than by inflicting misery on anothers.
Someone once said something about glasshouses - the fallout from this potential situation could devastate the world.
Have they never read Nostradamus or the revelations?

I'm in the US (thank you VERY much "purple moose"), and if I could escape and go to Britan than I wouldn't even hesitate. Bush is a creep and a loser, a C-student whose largest call to power was his determination to "avenge" his dad (Direct Quote from Bush regarding Hussein: "He tried to kill my daddy!!"). Sorry Bushy-Boy, but the presidency is about rationality and intelligence. You're representing a country, George. If you had any human decency, you'd give your multiple-tens-of-thousands-of-dollars that you got from that tax cut smiley - grr back to the government and step down.

I don't have much to say about the war with Iraq other than im generaly against it, as I am wityh all war. But I couldn't help but post a little note relating Sadam Hussian to Tybalt from Shakespear's Romeo & Juliet. Cheesy, I know, I hate to be catigorized as one of those freaks who just go around finding odd coincidences and pointing them out, (like that one near the top of this conversation, about Iraq really being north irlenend? what the f**k..) but just hear me out.

In shakespear Tybalt says:
"What? drawn and talk of peace? I hate the word, like I hate hell, all monteques, and thee!"

I feel that this quote paticularly relates to the relations between the US and Iraq, in this case Saddam would be in a way, playing the part of Tybalt. Saddam mocks the USA as we tell them to be peacful, when our fingers are always an inch away from a missle launch button. (much like being drawn and demanding peace) But Tybalt then says he hates peace anyway, much like Saddam (as proved by his constant repatition in warfare) Tybalt also states he hates hell, which could be percieved to show how Saddam is a religios man. As for all monteques and thee, it's pretty obviose that he has a grudge against America, and Bush.

Anyway, I know Shakespear was before Saddam's time, and yes I know it's a little insane to compare the too, but look at the similarities. Oh well, just felt I had to make my little point on that.

Iam a mum and a mum in law and a wife of the milatary, and I really don't want to see any of my family have to go to war, I know it is their chosen employment, but I know I would feel very bitter if anything happened to them because He'r Blair , couldn't keep his nose out of the bushs dream . If he wants a war let him sign up His children first , and himself and prehaps I could be more sympathetic to his cause. Sadam is a waste of space , time effort and money , lets deal with one thing at a time , Mr Bush you haven't dealt with the old Bin Liner yet ,so get back to basics and stop fighting your fathers war.
