DA ; Simply Vicky: Don't get pithy with me!

<<<>

Well, possibly. Since it doesn't seem to exist.>>

I think it does, but it is rare, and happens only in crisis situations, in my experience... Very rare indeed!

Hi Noggin, let those who believe in God rejoice, while the little children who have no sin starve to death in Africa.

Morning, Tom (well it is here, anyway).

Not quite sure why tht remark was directed to me. In the sense of puzzled, not offended smiley - ok

I'm not sure that that section of the religious that believe themselves to be "the Chosen Few", and rejoices in the imagined fate of the rest should be allowed to rejoice in peace.

toxx - all those implicit attributions and associations of a "thought" (whatever its modality), the sense of where it originates and fits in, were what I meant by its "intricacy".

I remain confused, as I don't see any logic in the 'hell and punishment' scenario. If we do what Satan allegedly wants and live a life of evil, he punishes us in hell! Why doesn't he reward us? Surely that would get more recruits for him.

On the other hand, doing what God wants is supposed to earn a reward. At least that makes sense. Why would Satan punish us for doing his bidding?

"Oh the temptation with EMR, but I daren't, in the circumstances. winkeye Well, maybe if permission is forthcoming."

[quote]
Sexual harassment on email groups or websites is unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature. It includes demeaning comments about a person's appearance; indecent remarks; questions about a person's sex life; sexual demands by a member of the same sex or opposite sex; name-calling with demeaning terminology which is gender specific; and unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature that creates an intimidating, hostile, or humiliating community environment.

*The essential characteristic of sexual harassment is that it is unwanted by the recipient.*
Behaviour that may be acceptable if the recipient welcomes it - such as engaging in banter online or in a private email exchange - can be harassment if the recipient indicates that the approach is unwelcome and the person who made it persists.

It is for individuals to decide what behaviour is acceptable to them and what is offensive or unwelcome. Individuals will have different perceptions about this. Behaviour that you personally may not find offensive could be so to another member of the group. So, if someone complains another list member has sexually harassed them you should not ignore or dismiss it on the grounds the behaviour would not have been offensive to you.

"well iam being anoying only because one is being anoying back ,"

Is this really true, though, shiftslug? I thought you were being annoying from the outset. If you wish to use excuses now this indicates:
(a) you are aware that what you say may annoy some people
(b) you do not wish them to express anger in your direction
(c) you seek to hide your true motives

this would indicate to me that you are either seeking to deceive others or yourself, and that, though you are angry and wish to have freedom to disrupt the enjoyment or comfort of others, you do not wish others to do the same to you.

Why not simply admit your anger and that you have no interest in other people except to irritate? At least that would be honest. smiley - biggrin

1. You have a young daughter (2 to 12yrs) who is raped and from there on her life is full of nightmares and she never ever recovers from the experience. You ask yourself these questions,
a)Where was God when this was happening
b)The wages of sin (according to xtianity is death and suffering) What was the young girls sins.
c)Will she be held responsible if she never ever believes in mankind leave alone God whom she has never seen.

2. Why is there no direct co-relation between doing good and prospering. (There are rich murderers who hold high places in governments all over the place, thieves embezzlers etc yet there are poor people (actually the majority who have never taken anything that is not theirs?)

3. Xtianity argues that God intended us to have a good life here on earth and later on in heaven. Why is it that some people have never known peace and happiness ever since they came to this world(examples may be given on request)

4. To expound on point three, does God really love us all equally or some of us are pawns in his chess game that is the world

5. What is really our purpose here on earth. (I mean why did God create us knowing very well that down the line man will sin and the wages of sin is eternal suffering).

6. When all is said and done, I think religion is even more of a farce than God. Its intended to keep humans in chech just like state laws are meant to. But I'll give one point to religion for those who believe, and practice their religion, they do experience some inner peace and sometimes joy. I've come to think the reason why this is so is because of hope. Life without hope is as useless or tasteless as eating a carton.

That's fine HS. I think you'll find that, insofar as I've become aware of any such charges, I've complied fully within the strictures you cite. smiley - biggrin

I'd like to add that remarks of a 'sexual nature' haven't featured in my discourse, as far as I recall. There have been remarks about language - occasionally in jest, which isn't the same thing.

How many times have you been thinking about some one the phone rings..and its themsmiley - magic

Amazing, yes on an emotional level. Feels great dont it, that's precisely why you remember it.

Whe you think about someone and they dont ringsmiley - erm

Same old same old and we dont have that emotional thril to embed the mundane in our memories.

A freind of mine had be "given" two tapes of clairvoyant sessions by a medium and on the back was the clairvoyants e-mail address and telephone number.

smiley - huh

I thought these people had contacts who could see all from beyond the grave. If so shouldnt they be calling us saying "Your grandads been watching and knows you want to get in touch with him" Or "stop that it'll make you go blind"smiley - winkeye

clairvoyants not all of them are mediums .a medium can hear see and feel anything paranormal while a clairvoyant can only see .

you have got to understand there are bad mediums etc just like there are bad doctors etc .

but how can a stranger who has never met you can tell you things only you no ,

don't mock a thing just cos you can't see it ,you can't see the wind but you can feel it you know its there , theres a lot of things in life we still don't have answers for .ss

The same way Derren Brown does, maybe? We give off clues which most people are not able to read, but if some people can naturally pick them up, then they can get much more detailed information with a bit of good guessing thrown in.
