Yo Tasty. I've tried very hard, but there's no way I could give an old, gay buddy a bj. I would physically throw up. It isn't a choice!

Toxx, I'm sure you could pleasure your buddy somehow, if you really tried. And, of course, if you hadn't lived in a homophobic society all your life you wouldn't think much of it probably.
Why do think you find the idea so repulsive, if not due to conditioning? I can't see anything innately horrible about same-sex stuff, although, like you it's not my cup of tea (and probably for the same reasons).

If it's conditioning, it's worked very well! I don't have any problem about md with girlfriends. Hey, this thread sure gets off topic at times!

Consider instead a lady that you weren't attracted to, then a lady that you strongly weren't attracted to, then a man. I think you will find a logical progression that doesn't have to have anything at all to do with social conditioning.

toxxin - ¡umop apisdn w,I 'aw dlaH Posted Feb 8, 2005
I see all of that, BD. But if it isn't a result of social conditioning, is it innate? I think so. Am I agreeing with you?

I don't really understand what you mean here, TRiG. Are you talking about the plural of 'god' ('gods') or are you talking about the feminine form ('goddess' or 'Goddess'). If the feminine form is what you're referring to, there's no reason to me why 'Goddess' can't be spelt with an uppercase 'G'. Some people certainly do believe in a supreme mother Goddess, one of my former teachers for one.

Are you asking about md, Pedro? I suggest that you get yourself out/in there and earn your aqualungs in muff diving. But afterwards, do make sure that your teeth are hair free before smiling at your granny!

You're probably agreeing with me, makes a nice change doesn't it? .
The opposite of attraction is repulsion, and I would guess that social conditioning is roughly as much a part of that repulsion as it is the attraction, which you'll have to decide for yourself.

Wow, I think that's the first time anyone's ever said that of my arguments... thanks!
I quite like that system. People think of sexual orientation as such an either/or thing: you're *either* gay *or* straight. But I don't think that's true at all. You could be just one more than the other. I consider myself straight, but that's not to say I haven't been attracted to other women before. It's this need to put a label on everyone, to decide what orientation they are and neatly pigeon-hole them that bothers me so much. And then when we start making legislation based on our pigeon-holes... well, let's just say it doesn't make me happy.

Keep on flossin' then, Pedro. Most of 'em love it, as you will have noticed. Nothing like dental hygiene to turn the girls on.

Blackberry Cat , if one wishes to remain an individual in the midst of the teeming multitudes, one must make oneself grotesque Posted Feb 8, 2005
I'd guess theres a lot of repressed bisexuals and homosexuals in our society
It wouldn't have to be conscious either
Even nowadays theres a lot of pressure (peer, social etc) to conform to the norm

echomikeromeo Posted Feb 8, 2005
Too true. And often the craziest homophobes will be the ones who are actually homosexual themselves. Strange the way that works.

trying to prove it to themselves as much as to other people I'd guess, though there is the ocasional outright hypocrite too
in the case of politicians or religious leaders who preach one thing and practice another I'm all in favour of 'outing' them, but that really applies to all areas of morality, not just sexuality

Deeply obscure young chap!
No, you're crystal clear and I for one, agree with you - which doesn't mean I am going to discuss it any more on here.

I learned from a Palestinian Christian website that you are correct, TRiG, as Arabic-speaking Christians and Jews use "Allah" to refer to God.
