Are you familiar with the OCRT (Ontario Consultants on Religious Tolerance)? Their website has a bit on it about the effects of false allegations of Satanic ritual abuse.

"Christian Scripture denies money lending and promiscuity yet in this country the only restrictions on the two activities is that pawnshops and pornshops cant open on Sundays."
Promiscuety is forbidden, sex only within marrage.
Charging interest on money lent, as far as I can remember, was only forbidden for Jews, and then only to other Jews; they could lend to Gentiles. There was nothing wrong with lending money to a fellow Jew for no charge.
"Christian scripture denies trading and working on Sundays"
No, that's Jewish scripture again. Jesus was 'Lord of the Sabbath' (which was, incidentily, Saturday) and the end of the Mosaic law.
Of course, I agree with your main point, and I'm sure the Pagans would prefer if all who called themselves Christians 'did as they'd be done by', etc.

"i trained as a sex aducature during the 6th form and taught the year 9s"
Not living in the UK I have no idea (or very little) what this means, i.e., what age were you, & what age those you were teaching?

Hi Moke
The Crusades had very litte to do with Christianity, and everything to do with money and power. Also the Crusaders actually killed more Christians than they ever did infidels.
Blessings,
Matholwch /|\.

Hi again Moke
As a founder of the Sulphur Outfall No4 Club I am hellbound, many Christians here have told me so and who am I to deny them this little pleasure?
If you don't know what the club is well..... In the unlikely event of the Evangelicals and Revelations being right, I shall not give up my beliefs and shall refuse to recognise the authority of the Abrahamic Deity to judge me.
Unsurprisingly, and no doubt to the absolute delight of the Evangelicals, I will be sent down to the lake of everlasting fire. There I and my comrades shall gather by Sulphur Outfall No4. There we will holler to all the angelic hosts swanning about high above us. Once we have their attention we shall hold up unbaptised babies out of the flames until we make them feel really guilty.
So hellbound and proud, I am certain I shall be in good company .
Blessings,
Matholwch the Apostate /|\.

I /do/ live in the UK, and I teach in secondary schools, and I have no idea what is being talked about either.
The poster seems to be saying that as an eighteen year old they have taught 14 year olds.
The sex-ed syllabus is strictly-controlled and has to be approved by the governors of the school and the Local Education Authority.
It seems a very strange syllabus that is being described here.

I am proud to be in that club.
And BTW, since Loki is my patron, I am even going to be on the 'wrong' side at Ragnarok :D

Hmm, I think you will find that the crusades had a lot to do with Christianity as well as money and power. The 1st Middle Eastern one in particularly was primarily motivated by faith.

hi i was 17/18 and i was teaching 13/14 year olds.
its a scheme which is run in doncaster in one of the schools called peer mentering.#
the idea is kids are more likely to listen to someone more their own age.
it involved 2 full day training session and we werent just let loose. we had another teacher in the room and we did the classes in groups of 2, 3,or 4 and had a script to follow which was very patronising but we had to follow it. we were teaching what the adults wanted but they hoped the younger ones would listen to us.

My experience of Catholics and Catholicism is in NZ, and all of the ones I have met here have been lovely people - which isn't to say 100% of them everywhere are - that just isn't possible!
I am not a Catholic, but I am leaning that way, ironically, the more opposition to it I find, the more I lean towards it (which is human nature, I suppose.)

Who would those have been, Matholwch? There are only a few Christians here, and I for one, have never said you're hellbound (unless you choose to be!)
In fact, Empty Sky and I, for two, and Insight, used to argue with you vociferously about it, and Insight was so cross that you continued to ignore him, and so discouraged, that he left.

BTW, my argument (and Empty Sky's) was mostly about the unbaptised babies, especially after you admitted that you knew perfectly well that "the unbaptised babies in hell" story was a myth you wanted to put forward...

Well, I suppose the monotheist God WOOD be if he could be, he deals out punishment with an IRON fist and is a PUTTER in your place... And he tries to be the HOLE in ONE, but personally, I consider a journey in his path to be a GOOD WALK SPOILED, and his CADDY makes my CLUBS messy...
Sorry about that - sometimes the punner in me strains to get out...

But if it's Jews who are forbidden from lending money, and not Christians, why did a tradition, and even a stereotype, develop of the Jewish moneylender, giving rise to characters like Shakespeare's Shylock? Why was there a need for Jews to take up the trade in the first place? I haven't got any biblical references to back up my thesis, but surely historical fact bears witness to this possibility?
