Melbourne, Australia

When I first came to the guide, I noticed there wasn't anything (good) about Melbourne. Now there is something a bit more in-depth that I wrote the other day:

Any suggestions would be gladly received and the page will be updated.

Thanks smiley - smiley

I was a little worried that the "virtual tour" would seem a little confusing if you don't quite know the layout of the city... I don't think this will be my last entry!

Haze: Plan C seems to be working

Okay.

You're obviously aware that there is already an enty on Melb. Just know that you're probably going to have to go for an update on the current entry. That's not a bad thing. I've read the current entry on Melb and it's a bit, er, thin.

The way you go in a clockwise circle around the CBD is pretty good, but I think it's a bit of an extended opinion. How do I know? Because I disagree with a few things, of course smiley - smiley. I'd rather eat puke than deal with those spruikers in Lygon St. I worked there for five years and even THEY hate each other. AND the food's not sensational by any means. You can get better Italian in Moonee Ponds. St Kilda isn't a red light district anymore either. Granted, Grey St is still full of streetwalkers and gutter crawlers, but that's it. IMHO The CBD is seedier.

But.

If you'd like to have the entry added to the existing entry (and your name added to the authors) I think there is some stuff here that's worth saying.

Cheers

Ok. I know St. Kilda isn't really a red light district anymore, but I wanted to give a bit of an idea of where it has come from. But I guess what I wrote came across as a little bit stronger than that. I guess I'm sorry to hear that you had to work 5 years in Lygon street - working somewhere always gives you a different perspective... I'll take out the comment about the best food thing...

Which Melbourne page were you referring to? I've seen:

http://www.h2g2.com/A86366 (which makes a really big point about how Melburnians pronounce Melbourne more than anything, oh, and the season thing), and
http://www.h2g2.com/A66061 (which only has a sentence)

I wasn't Impressed with either...

anyway, thanks for the suggestions
