Well first he has to not be president anymore which doesn't seem to be happening as several have tried and failed, then you have to be elected and get your cabinet sorted. i think soemthings going to happen once people return from holidays.

So is Peregrin the only person to have ever been president of H2G2 (there wasn't a Monarchy or something before it was there)?

I think he's the first president yes, there was an election about 2 years ago so it's definitely time for another

Peregrin is really quite an excellent President... while he's been in office, he hasn't done more than make a few speeches in the Post, which is great, because it means he hasn't mucked anything up either. He's a powerless President and knows it, which is also great because it means we can all get on with having fun.
