A Conversation for Musicians Guild Membership Page

Bassman - Funny how people never ceases to amaze me!

I am starting this new conversation in order to avoid confusion in my postings list. I am also applying for membership of the Chocolate Lovers' Club.

I would very much like to join the H2G2 musicians guild.

I have been playing Bass guitar for 20 years now (still no good though!) in various bands - check out my homepage for the whole story. I own a black Fender Precision that I bought in 1982 and a Sei Flamboyant 5 string that I had made for me in 1997. Check out the link in the drop down menu to the Sei Bass website on my home page.

My fave band or artist - that's a difficult one, it tends to change, so here is a list of several for starters:

The Stranglers
Thin Lizzy
Genesis
Queen
Seal
Rush
Marillion

I have spoken with Quorthorn over several months about equipment, bands techniques and things, so I can offer a limited ammount of knowledge which, I will happily share with all guild members who care to ask.

That's about it!

h2g2 Musicians Guild

Welcome to the Musicians Guild, Bassman. I have trouble believing that you can play the bass guitar for 20 years without being any good at it. But it will be nice having someone willing to discuss band equipment with some authority.

I just updated the membership list. You might enjoy seeing yourself on it. It is at http://www.h2g2.com/A438068

To put the membership graphic on your personal page, go to http://www.h2g2.com/A434648

Finally, we recently voted on an unofficial name for members of the Musicians Guild. We decided to call ourselves MuGs.

As I'm telling all the other new members, I'm looking for at least one person willing to become a co-owner of the club.

The volunteer(s) should be at least passingly familiar with GuideML (or HTML). They will help me maintain the membership list and the directory of music-related entries, and can help keep momentum going with Guild discussions on our group's main page. Let me know if you'd like to volunteer.

I would be honoured to take some part in the running of MuGs. Mosey on down to my space, see if you think I'm up to the HTML tasks.

I'm always willing to discuss equipment etc although I'm certainly no expert. Thanks for allowing me to become the latest of many, I'm off to find the graphic!!

Fragilis - h2g2 Cured My Tabular Obsession

Thanks, Bassman. Your HTML skills are up-to-the task I see, and the Guild graphic looks spiffy on your page.

You're the second person to volunteer, actually. LadyK has just spent the weekend helping me update the Directory of Music-Related Entries. We're currently considering another project. I'll send you an email about it.
