Surely no section of Philosophy is complete without an entry on Existentialism...

I don't think this really works as a guide entry on Existentialism.
By including with its account of Existentialism, accounts of the works of Kierkegaard, Nitezsche and Sartre, it ends up focusing on none of these things, and the structure suffers considerably. It also completely misses out on Heidegger's huge contribution to the topic.
I think that it would benefit by being re-structured to give, in this order:
A general definition of existentialism.
Main components of the doctrine.
Metaphysical, Epistemological, Ethical, Psychological, Political and Aesthetical assumptions.
Some of the main writers.

I have to say the entry as it is was a bit hard to read. It was long and wasn't really split up into sections. Perhaps a few headers?

It isn't in GuideML
You might want to check out the GuideML clinic it can make an entry much easier to read

How does this work if the author has gone walkabouts but the person who submitted it is still here? How does it get improved?

You can ask the Hootoo editors to move it to the Flea Market. They can do this if the author has 'left the building', which basically means not posting on the site for two months - which this person hasn't.

Let me know how it gets on. Existentialism, what a row that could start!
In the blue corner representing the ever-popular French we have JP Sartre!
In the red corner representing the ever-popular Germans we have M Heideggar!
And now over to your match referee Soren KIEEEERRKEGAAAARRDD!!!!
Boom.
