Bassman - Funny how people never ceases to amaze me! Posted Apr 12, 2002
I'm sorta glad that's all behind me now. That said I'm on the Hard Knocks course at the University of Life.

nope, not doing psycology. I've been the victim of some of their 'practicals' though.
"Look at this picture, *flashes picture in front of face and hides it again* Right, now how many blue fish were on the picture?"
"I didn't see any blue fish!"
"no you're wrong there was a very small one hidden in the filing cabinet in the toilet in a cupboard with the sign on the door saying 'beware of the leopard'!!!"

*Is both scared by random picture with the random dali style monkeys in, and coelacanth's ability to randomly appear from nowhere and provide information on random topics of conversation.... !!!
(And don't tell me there we no Laughing hampsters there either!.... I saw them, clear as day... )

I'm worse in real life! I'm always butting into the private conversations of teenagers to tell them things they need to know. That's teaching for you.

Happy Little Elf - Who's your favourite Dave? Posted Apr 15, 2002
There are two types of kids. those who buy sweets and those who don't.

Hmm... yes, very deep.
I guess I'd have to have been one of those...
Don't worry Coelacanth, it's great! There's nothing wrong with being a teacher, I'd do it if I had the time, (Outdoor adventure type stuff)...
Besides, how else would we know about all those random bits of data without you?

Hmmm... So, about the meet-up....?

The kids who don't just take them off the shelf and walk out the shop.
Are we agreed on said date and location
Sunday 16th June in Southampton.
Does everyone know where the library is?
Or the train station as I figure some might be coming by Train.

Bluebottle Posted Apr 15, 2002
The trouble with the train station is it has 2 exits, so we'd have to agree to meet on, say, the exit outside platform 1 or 4. It also isn't the nicest place to hang around for 45 minutes or more waiting for people to turn up...
(Is everyone agreed with Southampton? No-one wanting to change the location to, say, Winchester etc.?)
If so, time to decide a time. Anyone object to 2pm for the afternoon, and have an evening meet-up location at 6pm?

I was thinking more 3pmish as due to my work finish time and buses.

Bluebottle Posted Apr 15, 2002
Although, if anyone is arriving at Southampton and needs to be shown the way to the library, I'll be happy to meet them at the station there from 2pm onwards. (Get off at Southampton Central, not Parkway).

What sort of sign. I don't think you can just take for sale signs so that idea out of the quetsion.

Oh? I wouldn't mind buying the library for a couple of quid...
Anyway, I'll probably be wearing my H2G2 T-shirt to aid recognition.

Uncle Heavy [sic] Posted Apr 16, 2002
the thing about exams is that they do need revision. especially these A2 things. the other thing about them is not to begin them while hungover. although, to be fair, i was hungover for my oxford interview and i still got in.
oh yeah, not to boast or anything, but with only minimal GCSE revision i got 5A*s and 4 As...should you be interested

The Central library is part of the Guildhall.
It's the side facing the many bus shelters and the park.
(Does anyone actually realise that June 16th is actually Father's Day?)
