Ok this started life as a History essay, but i think the arguments here might be suitable for a guide entry.
Comments would definatly be appreciated.

Could you change the quote slightly to make it:
"ill-prepared to rule which lead to the restoration of the republic proper and its instability which lead to a restoration [of the monarchy]."
To clarify something I didn't clarify in my original (flawed) explanation? Ta.

Any comments? Any constructive criticism, any spelling mistakes? Anything wrong with this at all?

Which version of the OED is your definition taken from? It doesn't agree with mine: << 7. a. A complete overthrow of the established government in any country or state by those who were previously subject to it; a forcible substitution of a new ruler or form of government.>>
<> fist >> first (at least I assume that's a spelling mistake)
<> needs a space after the full stop
seperate >> separate
french >> French
<>
You need to read this section back carefully. It's a mess, it doesn't flow and it ends with a repetition. If it's a direct quote, it needs to be between tags. I suggest you recheck this with the original source.
<> This reflects this entry's origin as an essay. Could you reword this to something like: Does this hold true in the period of the French Revolution (or the English Civil War or whatever period you want)?
<> This definition *of* Revolution
<> You need a footnote to explain the 'Newsnight' programme to non-UK readers.
<> This is an incomplete sentence.
<> Change the curly quote in to a straight one

OK, all done except the footnote (how do i do that?)
the section you said should be in blockquotes already is, isnt it? and its a quote from a fellow h2g2 researcher, so i dont really want to fiddle with it too much.

To make a footnote tag you need to
Next to the word you want to have a footnote you need put the tag The text you want at the bottom of the page.
I hope this helps.

I have put the quotes that arent blockquotes in italics, i am not sure if the blockquotes need to be italicised as they are already clearly quotes.
let me know if this needs anything else done to it.
