Does anyone mind if I bring the green couch from my space? It's really comfy, I think it'd make a nice addition...

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho Posted Nov 12, 2000
Now, this is just how it should be . I once worked at a place which had a small, south-facing area behind the boiler house which no-one ever used, so a couple of us decided that it would be nice place to have a little place of our own. So we made some decking out of pallets, brought in a few old chairs, somebody found a small table, and before you could say ompompush, we had us a sun lounge, and we used to go there at lunch break, and sometimes hang around there after work, drinking cider and telling off-colour stories . What made it so comfortable was that we didn't have to worry too much about scuffing up the furniture, and it grew organically, kind of like The Palace Flophouse and Grill in John Steinway's book Cannery Row. Anyone mind if we use the same name for this one?

In that case, The Palace Flophouse and Grill is officially open, with Marc as Doc. For the time being it'll be situated here, but when I get around to it (could be very soon - I have a bunch of laundry to do) I'll create a new entry for it... unless anyone else wants to build it. We could probably use a few more chairs right now, and a few lamps would give the place a nice ambience. In the meantime, I just found a box of candles in the garage, I'll light some. And I believe I'll have a please ox.

Well as long as it's going around, can I get a and maybe a to chase it? is so much better than ... It'd help me with my paper, I'm sure it would...
And if anyone needs some quick cash, I'll be needing someone to help me catch starfish down at the tide pool later on. There's a bottle of Old Tennis Shoes in it for you...

I mean, Marc

Mmmmmm, Old Tennis Shoes. Just one thing Doc, I mean Marc - make sure Mack and the boys don't go giving one of them there parties where everything gets smashed up, and everyone gets into a big fight

Well, I guess the beauty of using old furniture from wherever we find it is that if it should get trashed, it won't be hard or expensive to find replacements.... yeah, but then, some of those beat up old armchairs are the most comfortable you'll ever sit in. I don't know what it is about them - whether it's that they just don't make new armchairs that shape any more, or that an armchair needs years of use to break it in, but there ain't nothing like finding one that fits you perfectly, and sinking into it at the end of a hard day, especially if it's one that you don't have to be too careful about not spilling your cup of tea on. Aaaaaaaah. Thanks for the ox, that was just what I needed.

Cheers, Gosho. Finding the perfect comfy chair is indeed of mythical proportion, not unlike a grail quest. After years of searching I just found a comfortable wood rocking chair, but that's for reading...I still seek that perfect, soft, let-me-curl-up-in chair that must be out there somewhere.
