Kes Posted Nov 14, 2000
*Sopho accepts the attention, and pretends to ignore the compliment. However, faint purring can be heard. White kitty lets go of the yarn, and tries to understand the pattern in the way the ball of wool moves as the spell is being woven.*

Oooh, thanks mari-rae, lovely socks, and they´ve got the unionjack knitted into it, how did you do that?
*E puts on the socks, pushes the armchair into place, gets another Glühwein, his "Fifth Elefant" he´s just reading, and drops off into Uberwald*

What's 'Uberwald', Engländer?
Hmm, folks, I'm not sure how long I'll be able to stay, cause the server seems to be awfully slow tonight!
*Kasia purs herself an and heads to the fireplace. She puts some more wood and pine cons for the colour, sits down and you can hear a delighted sigh...*

Uberwald is a place on the Discworld. It´s the place where werewolfs, vampires, dwarfs, Zombies etc. live. A good book
*E drops off again*

Dragonfly. "A poet can survive everything but a misprint"-- Oscar Wilde Posted Nov 14, 2000
What should we name the White Kitty!??
Ovid!??
::kitty cringes his pink nose and stays intangled in the yarn::
Hermmm...
Hermes!??
::kitty cringes his pink nose again and his whiskers twitch in agitation::
::Sophocles licks her paw, wisely::

*Mari-rae finishes the garment and stands up. She holds the soft grey folds of material out and places them into St. Bob's hands.*
This is for you...
A cloak the north wind for to foil
Folded becomes a pillow royal.
Spun of fibers soft and long
Knitted together will keep you strong.
Do not fear even the Bugblatter Beast
It cannot harm you in the least.
The virtue of this cloak I'll now impart -
Its strength of soul, and mind, and heart.
Kasia, I'd like a , dear. Englander, I'm happy you like your socks. How about Confucious for the white cat's name? Black and white, yin and yang...

Marvellous weaving, Marie-rae - just the thing for him ...
Hmm a choice of names for the white kitty ..
*addresses kitty*
What do you think?
*Kitty stops tail-chasing and runs over to a saucer, tapping it with her paw, making it wobble*
Saucer? Ah - right --- nearest you could find ... Alright then, "Plate-oh" it is!

Pandora Posted Nov 15, 2000
*Pandora sits happily...tummy full of Kaisa's good cooking*
"I'm delighted you all like the kitty! Mari-rae? I'll pay you a good wage to knit a coat for my dog. Doberman's have such short coats...I have to shove her out the door when it's this cold! HA!
She's outgrown her last one. She's nearly 100 lbs. She's the best birth control in the whoke World! LOL!" *watching the kitten play brings a smile to Pan's face* "I only have one cat inside now, 'Presious'...mainly white, with blue siameese eyes, tan & gery ears & a tabby tail! Somebody's realitives just didn't run fast enough! HA! She finely came home! I think she ws hanging out at Grebo's place. She was mad that I kept several outdoor cats.
I did have 25...now there's only about 9 or so...but another one was dropped off the other day. Looks like a house cat...pure white with very long hair! I don't know if I can stand havine two cat & a 100 pound lap dog all trying for my lap! Sure keeps me warm though!" *eyes mari-rae's knitting...* "Hmm, maybe it's a sweater for a snake?!?" *giggle* "Don't mind me, I couldn't put two stiches together if my life depended on it...but I sure can drink!!!!
What?!? We all have to be good at SOMEthing!" "I'd like a nice surprise drink please...something sweet...anything but gin!"
*scrunches up her face* "I don't know how people drink that stuff!?! Boy, the wind's relly blowing, where I come from they say the Hawk is Blowing!" *sits by the fire awaiting her surprise drink*

It's a good winter warmer ...

Probably three or four before it gets to the various nerve endings, I'd say .... never tried it before?

*Digs in her basket and comes out with a lovely shade of cranberry red and knits up a dog coat for Belle*
Here you are, Pandora! Its stretchy, so it should fit her. Cats choose their owners. Don't worry about having too many cats. They sort these things out for themselves.
*Exercises her arthritic fingers.*
Hope St. Bob likes his gift.
Kes, I am feeling down and a bit loaded atm. What the heck, I'll have another , if you wouldn't mind getting it for me?

Kes Posted Nov 15, 2000
*Kes hands Marie-rae a suitably stiff drink, and takes one for himself*
Here you are, my dear ... Cheers. I thought i saw you in another place for a fraction of a second ... then you vanished ... not sure what happened . Still - you're here now.
