Crossed Purposes - March 2004

Hello JulesK, welcome to the Crossed Purposes.
It'll be a for me and some to dip in it.
If you click in a smiley, it will take you to the page and you can print out the whole list

Thanks, I'm going to try to bring them up on a second page and use them that way. Nope...don't worry guys, the techie spouse will be home soon to help so I'll call them from here on the mobile and ask. I assume this is one of those proper pubs where we go outside to use the things?
Sorry, I'm a bit dim today - what did I say that made people think I might be a skydiver (or is this code for something else?)?
Never knowingly jumped out of an aircraft thus far in life.
I have to say as this is my first week on h2g2 it can sometimes feel like that though!

Erm, sheepish look...maybe your question was linked in some way to the name of the hostelry?

Hmm, it's all gone a bit quiet in here.
Won't develop paranoia. Will stroke the cat and sit quietly with my wine.

Sorry - can be a little bit insecure at times.
Another few drinks and my chirpier side will be to the fore.
Are most people who come into this establishment from the USA/UK?

Jules, you didn't say anything to indicate that you were a skydiver. I'd just like to meet one, that's all.
I've know scuba divers, but not skydivers. I think it's important to expand your horizons. And since I have no intention of ever bailing out of a plane myself, I need to find someone who will so I can live vicariously through them.
Here, take a drag on this. ========~~ It will relax you.

I don't remember anyone every paying for anything in the CP. Are we supposed to?
*Shudders at what the size of her bar tab could be*
I am also from the UK Jules but family/domestic commitments sometimes keep me from the pub.

Well it's great to meet people from all over the globe, and thanks again for the welcome.
Hypatia - still trying to think if I know anyone who skydives that I can introduce you to! Have you ever met anyone who played the balalaika? (Played as in the past tense I'm afraid, but you never know - a few vodkas later on may loosen up the old fingers)
As it's around midday here I shall have a hot chocolate if there is any. Hmm can't find any so I'll just have tea.
I see you went on holiday to St Lucia, Caerwynn - am off to Jamaica in a couple of weeks, excited but not really ready for it due to work and lack of dieting/exercise necessary to fit last year's cossies.

I had just the same problem, in spite of going to the gym twice a week, pilates once a week ~and~ giving up my nightly half bottle of . What's more there was very little in the shops for holidays too.
Swimming in warm seas was the bestest bit, watching all the little through my swimming goggles and seeing how long I could hold my breath. Thanks to Pilates and all the controlled breathing, I could exhale for a count of 25
I'm making up for the dropin intake now .
WR, Kumala Cab shiraz is my current favourite.

Mmm...I like Don Darius red - have we any in here? Should get some. White - I'm into Semillon Chardonnays...currently working my way through the brands (or should that be vineyards - not very wine posh, me).
Am looking forward to being able to do nothing and wear summer clothes (well I say that but actually I'm dreading seeing myself in the mirror!). You seem to have been very disciplined beforehand. I shall have to get on the old exercise bike (more usually known as 'unusual clothes-stand in the corner'). Have got a snorkel mask I bought once so shall have to find that and pack it. Also looking forward to the rum!

You know me Hyp. Oh, wait, I didn't actually mean to jump...nevermind.
Welcome Jules...we, er, SOME people mess this place up toward the end of each month so we actually move into a new thread.
<---click onto my smiling face & you shall be transported to where all the faces an' stuff live.
I've got to pack for my trip to the Ocean. !!!!!

I gotta' go!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
...*a note flutters to the ground like a feather on a windless day...it reads...*
I'LL BE BACK WHEN I GET HERE...& DON'T WORRY ABOUT ME BECAUSE I CAN NEVER BE LOST CUZ WHEREVER I FIND MYSELF, THERE I AM.
