Let's instead discuss how you came to be a Vegan

OK (although must admit to a teensy bit of lurking on your space and I'm none the wiser. I find it very hard to assess people's age and gender around here - so excuse me if I make assumptions - especially if you're not going to tell! )
How I became vegan? I'm not really sure how. I couldn't get to sleep one night - almost exactly a year ago - and, after much pondering and far too much brain activity at that time of night (about 2am) I decided to do a little yoga meditation combined with Barefoot Doctor-style visualisation. I was just sinking into oblivion when it came to me - I should be vegan.

So - how did you get into vegetarianism?

One day I just decided, and what's weird is I can't remember why!

How long ago was it? Do you just have bad short-term memory? Or was it ages ago?
Oh good - our food is here at last! Looks good - shall we order some to go with it? Or are you on the non-alcohol because you aren't old enough to drink?

My short term memory is fine, it was about 3 months ago and the reason I can't remember is that it just had never occured to me to save animals by being vegetarian!
And i'm not old enough to drink

Aha! I'm beginning to build up a picture of you.
I was vegetarian for about 18 years before becoming vegan. I did it originally for health reasons but you kind of get into the moral reasons too. My becoming vegan was for the moral reasons - I just think that if I can be adequately nourished without it causing any suffering - then it just seems right. I feel much happier and healthier as a vegan.

Do you mind if I order that for myself (you see - I am old enough to drink - lots) I'll order you a lemonade if you like.

Are you not even old enough to have wine with a meal if an adult is buying it for you?
