So... when are you guys planning another Dutch meet? It'd be great to pop over sometime, and see the Netherlands again

Maybe this will help then. I wrote a journal entry to ask for ideas. So basically, if people who are interested can tell me when they would like the next meet to occur, there's a thread over here: http://www.h2g2.com/F35230?thread=90737
Thanks guys that was great

At last, after a significant cash shortage that prevented me from being able to pay for it - I have my photos back from the developers! How does this Fotango thing work then?

Thanks guys that was great

I know Peta had hers done by them...
I did it the old-fashioned way, scanned, uploaded, linked to a page...have you seen my pics??

Oh good, more pics!
If you have a look at http://www.h2g2.com/Fotango it should explain everything. You may have to read it a few times before it makes sense though.
Thanks guys that was great

O.k I think that makes sense. One thing though, I have ALREADY had these developed. So what do I do, post Fotango the negatives?
Clive
P.S I've got a great one of you E.V, lounging on the bus.
Thanks guys that was great
Dr E Vibenstein (You know it is, it really is.) Posted Dec 9, 2000
I think the idea is that if you have the photos, you have to scan them yourself and then upload them to Fotango. I could be wrong though.
*wonders if he should be quite so helpful before he's seen the pics*

Peregrin Posted Dec 9, 2000
If you have them processed you can scan them in and upload them to Fotango. But then you might as well upload them to any old webspace, which is easier to sort out than Fotango, in my opinion.
Thanks guys that was great
Peregrin Posted Dec 9, 2000
In fact I downloaded mine from Fotango and uploaded them onto my website, because I couldn't figure out how to share all of mine on Fotango.
Thanks guys that was great
Clive the flying ostrich: Amateur Polymath | Chief Heretic. Posted Dec 10, 2000
Ah-ha. So first I need to create some web space. No. 28 on my list of thing T'do.
Also buy a scanner.
Hmmm.
Clive

Peregrin Posted Dec 10, 2000
well in that case it might be easier to send your negatives to Fotango for them to upload... I'm not sure if they do that but you could email them and ask.
Thanks guys that was great
Clive the flying ostrich: Amateur Polymath | Chief Heretic. Posted Dec 10, 2000
I'll probaly be able to use a friends scanner to actually scan the pictures when I get back from Uni. Now it sounds a daft question but how do you create a web page for this sort of thing? I was quite happy to just be able to use the internet without having to get involved in actually understanding how it worked. (or not enough?)
Clive

Clive the flying ostrich: Amateur Polymath | Chief Heretic. Posted Dec 10, 2000
Oh and thanks for the advice Peregrin, E.V, everybody.
Thanks guys that was great
Peregrin Posted Dec 10, 2000
Um, try using Geocities or something like that, they are fairly user friendly and guide you through the process. Or if your friend with a scanner is knowledgable they might be able to show you how.
Thanks guys that was great
MaW Posted Dec 10, 2000
But use geocities for as little time as possible because they're horrible.
