The London Underground map has also been the subject of a piece of art in the somewhat controversial 1997 Royal Academy Sensation exhibition. Put simply The Great Bear by Simon Patterson takes the tube map but changes the names of stations to artists, footballers, newsreaders, comedians, philosophers, saints, etc.

Gah! Yes, that's bound to be right. I'd best warn you that you'll have to come up with a question once Grey Desk confirms it.

Astro-Logica or Polidari?
GreyDesk Posted Apr 8, 2002
Thank god thats all over!
Short of posting a photograph of my lounge where a copy of said artwork hangs I didn't know quite what other clues I could have left. The original list of clues punched into google will bring you to a site about Mornington Crescent, the game. From that you could have got the picture.
As to who really won. Well PW posted the name of the artwork, but immediatly admitted to ignorance - bad move. And only later posted the correct A number.
AL in the mean time had been to that page and posted the link to the offsite picture itself, plus the blurb copied from the edited entry.
So who wins?
Astro-Logica does
[Mainly 'cos Polidari's link had the dreaded word "alabaster" in it ]

The Hindu calendar.
52nd century of Kaliyuga:
(1999 CE)
According to the Hindu calendar, mankind has completed 5100 earthly years during the Kaliyuga and the year 1999 CE marks the 5101st year or the 52nd century of that yuga.
Thus, in 1999 CE, earthly time is reckoned as the second century of the sixth millennium of Kaliyuga.

BTW - Grey Desk - I sympathise with you, re being al*b**tered - but might I suggest a cure. Since I have added Jum Lynn's (God bless him) "make It Goo" button to my links bar I haven't been subjected to the dreaded scheme.

The possibilities of a keybord are too inflexible for a good drawing.
Try to use a bit more imagination.
