What is the point of strings of letters that don't mean anything?

who knows... but plenty of formerly nationalised British companies seem to be taking this route of disowning their Britishness... you don't hear of any mention of British Petroleum in BP any more... or British Telecom in BT...

Hey, Deano! Congratulations! I love it when the Guide works like this. (Deano came over to say that my entry about 'Things to do at Heathrow' was a bit of a winge-fest, and I suggested he write an entry about the history of the place, and here it is.
How cool is that! And it's a great entry.
