Here you go, dear.

Well, it seems, I should think it over, I mean to have a dog in here...

Oh yes, you should do! smiley - smiley They're an excellent way of introducing oneself to young men, especially when they tend to jump all over them! (The dogs over the young men, not the other way around of course!) smiley - winkeye

Oh, a second long I thought, the young men tend to jump at the do's owner...

Yes, there's that too! LOL! smiley - smiley

Mind you, Jess is quite good and barks at anyone who approaches me whilst we're out walking which is just as well as I choose some pretty isolated locations. The other two would probably lick a burglar or assailant to death! smiley - smiley

The most useful trick was to take the dogs to a pub, and let them get fussed by groups of nice young men. My old lady who died a couple of years ago, Kim was excellent at going up to and greeting groups of nice young men who all used to make a fuss of her and give her crisps to eat! She was a terrible flirt, and I have no idea where the saying that dogs take after their owners originates from! smiley - tongueout

That's a splendid idea, Gwennie!

Okay then, I must think which kind of a dog I'll have. One thing for sure: it must be a huge one!

Big and friendly with a very waggy tail! smiley - winkeye

One thing to remember though is that the larger the dog, the bigger the doggie poops are! smiley - tongueout

Okay,

here we are, Vesta. Do you like the cottage, sweetie?

*Kasia puts a nice doggy-bedding near by the fire place. Vesta, the cute german pointer lady looks around and begins to sniffle out all over the place. Then the dog vaves with the tail - it seems Vesta likes her new home*

Thank you very much for the chews. Vesta loves them!

How do you like her? Isn't she just lovely?

Gwennie, I just poured some fresh tea - do you like a cup?

Ooops! Didn't notice the double click.

How did you guess, Gwennie? Yes, Vesta was my dog IRL. She was really a sweetie, but she has gone many, many years ago. There is a little story because of the name. As you probably know, Gwennie, Vesta was a goddess in the myths of old Romans, she was the keeper of the family flame. Before my parents bought the dog, we had another one, a cocker-spaniel Zaza. She once bitten me, so my father decided to gave her away. And then he said, we will have another dog, when we got a bigger flat (it wasn't so easy at those times - communism and so on, you know). My mom overfloated then our flat with boiling water (non intendedly, of course) and managed so to get a bigger flat. Then she bought Vesta as a birthday gift for my dad! And gave the dog this name.

That's a lovely tale about how you got Vesta! smiley - smiley

It's always sad when a pet dies (I lost my old lady, Kim who was 17½ years old when she died just over two years ago).

At the moment, in real life we share our home with three dogs and five cats!! Everyone thinks I'm mad! *Vacant grin* smiley - bigeyes

Where do you live now, Kasia?

*Takes a bite of apple cake* Yummy! smiley - smiley

Well, Gwennie, to answer your question (sorry for the break smiley - smiley), I live in Warsaw, Poland. I was born here and I love this city, although it could occure to a stranger not very beautiful. It has good areas, which are really great, like several parks, we have here or our Old Town, which was fully restorated after WW2.

I lived also 5 years in Cologne, Germany and 6 years in Munich, Germany. Munich is another place I love. I still have huge friends there and I visit them 1 or 2 every year.

Hello Kasia! smiley - biggrin (No apologies required, please...)

An old boyfriend of mine took a holiday in Warsaw and thought it was a wonderful place. smiley - smiley Cologne is also a place I would love to visit.

What is it like to live in Warsaw nowadays?

Did you learn English in school? (Nosy, aren't I?) smiley - winkeye We English are mostly useless at learning foreign languages and although I was taught French for 8 years at school, have forgotten most of it through lack of practice. smiley - sadface

I'd love to be able to travel, but with two kids and a hubby that is ill, it is something that I no longer do due to poor finances.

I was born just outside London, moved to Hampshire (Southern England) when I married an army chap, then emigrated to New Zealand with my second husband and after a couple of years, returned to live in the North East of England. It's not where we would ideally like to live, as it is a socially and economically deprived area. But we're here now and there are many worse places we could be. smiley - smiley

Yes, my English is a school one smiley - smiley, although it's a 'few' years ago now.

I would like to make it better, but as I manage to communicate, it's ok. My German is really good, as for I lived in Germany and also studied it (means - the language).

Well, Warsaw is a nice place to live, not so very pretty, though. It has beautiful places, but I'm addicted to this city, so I'm unable to be objective, you know. The life here changed during the last 10 years enormously, not always it's better (when I think of our horrible jam I get smiley - grr!), but it's nice. I live quite in the middle of Warsaw, so I can get to many places by feet. Hmm, but in the evenings or at night I'm always taking a taxi - cause it could be quite dangerous smiley - sadface

That's a shame about not being able to go out at night without a taxi. smiley - sadface Do you have friends and family close by that you can visit? (My family all live in the South of England, so I seldom see them.)

Most cities here in the UK aren't that bad, depending on which area you're in but they're very expensive to live in.

I'm a "country bumpkin" and love living in the countryside although where I live now is too "built up" for my liking as it's a small ex-mining town but it does have lovely countryside surrounding it. smiley - bigeyes

If you go to my cottage "The Rank" (from the Villa de la Vavoom) http://www.h2g2.com/A424784, you will see a picture of where we used to live before we went to New Zealand.

I was ill for a period of time and then I just didn't had the time to go online. Now I fully recovered and got the time again I need to rebuild my h2g2 contact caus they got lost in the process.

Think it is the wrong day now, but if you ever get sick again a good thing to do is write. I've wrote several stories and poems during this period, the only problem is that there quite depressing.
