This game can lead to some very funny moments...

I am VERY confused. Read back over it and walk us through playing a game. You launch into telling me the aim without really setting the scene and telling me what I'm actually doing physically smiley - yikes

I was afraid that might happen...OK, I'll completely re-write it tonight, and post the new version tomorrow.

The entry has been somewhat rewritten, and I'd say it's somewhat clearer now. Unfortunately, it can't be read as I post this, what with the entire site being in pre-mod and all. (Any idea what's up with that?)

BBC technicians were on strike because the BBC wants to cut 3,750 jobs to save money for programs from independent tv companies. Many technicians, broadcasters etc went on strike and will do so again on Tuesday for 48hours this time.

I'll make sure I read this in a bit I promise smiley - ok

Well, I knew about the industrial action, I was just curious as to how this lead to site-wide pre-mod. Turns out it was as a better alternative to shutting it down altogether.

Looks like a good entry so far!smiley - ok

There are only a few suggestions I have, though.

In the first section when you talk about 'killing', you don't mention that this is just a game. If I didn't already know what the game was about, I might imagine that you were really killing people. A footnote may be justified.

I still think a clearer introduction is necessary. Before you even get into the specifics, you could have just one paragraph - a couple sentences - that tells us what the basic premise of the game is, just so we know what we're about to start reading.

There was a huge game going on at my school a few months ago, yet it didn't get out of hand. Perfectly safe, and I don't even think the administration had any idea it was going on. So there you go.

I've added a new scentence to the first paragraph, hope it makes things clearer. Also, if you look closely, you'll see that the first four words are 'Assassins is a game...'; however, the new scentence does indeed have a footnote explaining that actual deaths or injuries are a bad thing.

When you say with some kind of impliment, it seams a little hazy as to if it needs to be a consitent impliment throughout the game (ex. everybody must use a plastic knife) or if you can use anything creatively (ex. one guy uses a plastic knife, another uses a water pistol, and another uses cell phone(radiation) etc.)

I'd never heard of this game before. The entry makes sense to me and reads fairly well.

One point: you need to add an extra space in the following sentence (between or and very) from the 'Making a kill' bit:

Any item can be used to make a kill – water pistols, apples (the stalk looks like the pin of a grenade), cardboard boxes with words like fridge orvery heavy written on them, or even mobile phones (they give off radiation).

Suggestions have been noted and added. and there is no restiction as to what implements you can use, as I explain in a new footnote.

An entry on Assassins! Great! smiley - ok

I wonder if it's worth mentioning a few more security issues. These might only be relevant to really large games though, and I don't know how common these are. In the university games I've played, we've had over 200 players, and the game has lasted for the whole of the university term. With so many people involved, things have occasionally gone a bit wrong.

For example, cap guns and rubber pellet guns (which shot harmless balls of foam) are now banned. This is because they can look like real guns, and new firearms legislation (in the UK) means that we can't use them. People were stopped by the police for carrying fake guns.

Sorry if this all sounds a bit picky, but it's just something to be aware of when playing Assassins. It probably doesn't apply to smaller games where, as you say, the authorities don't even notice anything's going on! smiley - laugh
