Dollop of whipped cream on that? I meant the beach in the photo on Lil's business website. Long, wide and curving beneath white cliffs. Is Wight a volcanic island? How was it formed?
Yes, Kasia, we will have a spectacular New Year's celebration!! We are getting dressed for it already!!

Oh right - that one.
In the foreground is Whitecliff Bay, you can see the top of Culver Cliff, and behind it, after Horseshoe Bay (a place where you don't go unless you want to be killed by the tide...) is Sandown Bay - where I live - with the 5 miles of golden sand stretching to Shanklin.
But the Isle of Wight isn't a volcanic island - there aren't any faults near here, the nearest is in Sicily I think. It's just an awful lot of chalk and limestone which was made into an island from the mainland by the Solent... It's quite a complicated story - you can get quite a thick book at most Island bookshops saying exactly how it happened - but I haven't read it yet...

I won't make you recite it then, I was just mildly curious. Did you love growing up there?
(no letter yet, maybe today's post will bring it!)

Sorry, Kasia and Lord Falk. This is rude of us. Here is the website and photos we are talking about...

Of course I loved growing up there - I'd've thought you'd've guessed that by now!
But then it's the kinda place that you either love or hate. It's different to everywhere else, and a lot of people you meet hate it because of that. But if everywhere's the same, the world would be dull.

Do you have much of a tourist problem, BB? I got tired of tourists when I lived in Windsor and had to push my way through swarms of them just to get into the post office.
New Mexico is still a goal, mari-rae. But my younger brother's health is failing and we need to have a serious talkabout where to live in case he becomes an invalid in the next few years. As he is a handyman, I think I could get him interested in the idea of building a straw bale house.
Actually, the most daunting prospect is getting rid of the stuff in THIS house. Since I inherited it, I have a whole bunch of chattels that are, more or less, the family estate. It scares me a little bit.

Okay, no I catch the thing.
I was photographing yesterday when I made a trip to nearby forest (and believe me, we have lot of it!). Now I try to take some nature fotos and some weird fotos from myself because I'm never pleased fotos taken from me. So I travelled through the forest with huge black cape around me and took fotos. Some people actually see me but they were scared away... Now I just wait for the weird fotos...
Oh, maybe I could test some 'unknown color' tea?

'unknown colour' tea?!
Hi Lord Falk LeGrey - are you already preparing yourself for the New Year's Ev?

A little bit, I have to decide which shirt I'm going to wear. I hope everything will go peacefully. 2001, nice if I live to 2100 I would be 118 years old. There is something worth of trying?
Unknown colours? This is just one things from my childhood. Is there a colour which we haven't find?

There are many, Lord Falk. The human eye only sees part of the color spectrum. We cannot see infrared, for instance.
Please do come to the party. You too, Lil! There are heaps of glorious dresses to choose from in the Ladies loo at CP!
I saw a 'This Old House' episode about those straw bale houses. Interesting!

New Year's party?
Where?
Wait a minute... Tomorrow is New Year's Eve...
*on vacation LeGrey doesn't mind the days*
Hehee, I must have a infrared vision... Oh, it is so early for me. I only slept few hours and still wake up at nine o'clock... Well, this will really open the day!

You never get tired to stare those lamps...
*takes small box out from the robe and opens it*
Heh, here. A lavalamp for the tea shoppe!

Too cool! Thank you, Lord Falk!
*She plugs in the little lava lamp and they all stare at it transfixed while the blobs of thick color begin to rise and fall within it.*

But now the weather is colder, which is nice indeed. Maybe we get real winter afterall...

Me went to a party too !
And it was a chinese restaurant, with good food and a nice place to dance. We were about 50 people - nice and somehow there were connections between this group, so I lerned many new people through my friends.
It was really fun and I enjoyed it very much
Mari-Rae, may I have an Earl Grey with hot milk, please?

And could I have magenta, please.
No big party for me. I just like it nice and mysterious on its own way. But now we face the year 2001. It is kind of funny that we are always different after the year has gone. And when you look at the last year you'll notice many things that have changed. Life is a fair call...
Huh, now I just try to relax in my comfortable room and watch the candles burn brightly. It is just a good evening for the diary! Only thing that I really fear in that case is what I'm going to write. The text is seen very diffrently in daylight because the mind seems to reflect thoughts differently at night... Hmm... How about space? There is always eternal darkness. All my writings would be very weird.
