Talking Point is the place within h2g2 for discussion and debate. Every week there's a new subject, so join in the conversation, share your views and make your point.
Men are from and Mars, women are from Venus and we're from h2g2. And what's on our minds at the minute is the question: can members of the opposite sex really understand each other? Can there exist a real yin and yang style harmony between the two? Or is it a case of never the twain shall meet?
You know how it is, when a woman is asked, 'Is there anything wrong', and she replies, 'Nothing' - you can guarantee that there's something really wrong. And when a man says, 'I'll definitely call you tomorrow', you know he certainly won't. There's also a popular theory that men are becoming increasingly redundant as a species, hence the problems women have communicating to their menfolk through this fog of insecurity. And as a witty fellow once said, 'Women. Can't live with 'em..........
It'll be interesting to see what you come up with. Are there any John and Yoko's out there 'living in a world of peace' and willing to share their secret? Or is it all a Richard Burton - Elizabeth Taylor roller coaster ride of attraction/repulsion, attraction/repulsion... and eventual destruction. So, men and women all, speak now, or forever hold thy peace.
