A Conversation for Understanding the Opposite Sex

Sharing/Boasting

When a woman talks about relationships, guys they've had or the bloke they pulled the previous evening at a night club - THAT is called sharing. Yet when a guy talks about sex, girls etc - THAT is called boasting. To me it seems unfair that I have to shut up all the time so as not to be called a boaster, when girls can yap all they want to and pass it off under the feigned appearance of being "emotional and deep" with her friends. It annoys me.

short but sweet (good things come in small packages)

While I can't comment on what men talk about to each other (seeing as I'm not one), I definitely have to disagree with you about the women. If a woman is looking for advice about a relationship problem, I suppose that can be considered "emotional and deep." Of course, that applies equally to a man in my books. But if she's just "yapping" about "the bloke she pulled the previous evening at a night club," that's gossip, plain and simple. And in my (limited) experience, no woman has tried to pass it off as anything else. We're no better or worse than the men, that's for sure.

Of course, it's only boasting if your story is something to be proud of smiley - smiley

I'm a man, and I'm sharing. Some days ago I discussed masturbation with a friend, and that is NOT something you boast about. The opposite, in fact. I think it depends very much one the person you're talking to whether what you're saying are boasting or sharing. Albino, I think that you shouldn't shut up, and if people are saying your boasting, just tell them to take you seriously and to shut up. I've found that if you tell people that you get pissed off about what they're saying, they usually change their ways.

This got quite serious, sorry, I'll be funny some other time...
