well, i have simply unplugged the printer because the little print cartridges cost almost as mutch as the printer itself....but that's another story.....the big problem i'm finding is in getting the right parts to fix things.
the 'experts' may tell you that 'they don't make those anymore' which often translates into 'i'm not gonna look for a dinky part when i can get commission on a new-item sale.'
and then, it may be the right part, you have installed it correctly, made the right connections.....and still not work, because many things are DESIGNED and manufactured to become obsolete AND the company in question didn't bother to make replacement parts when they built the things originally.
it's been called 'planned obsolescence' (or some spelling like that.)

Hi there, Glad you read the article, and you are right about the spares thing! Well my printer died! My stepson tried it hooked up to his PC but no go So now Im looking for another one, it will be another Epson however as the carts are so cheap to replace
I cant afford it just now, but one day soon....hopefully

well, normally (what is normal ?) i read all the 'regulars' on the Post, and your column this week triggered off that 'spare parts' rant, as i have experienced that numbers of times, in varied settings, various ways.....
as you can surmise, i am currently stuck 'between a rock and a hard place' on several and random issues.

Yea! Its usually a rant that starts off my Snippets or something that has effected me in such a way as to remember it. I seem to have lost touch with a lot of the H2 regulers in here due to coming on line less often
I think its the longer nights and the good weather, as its been a long winter stuck inside a house all day & night

last night, i made sure a towel was at bonnie's house, with a spare bathrobe and slippers, she knows i need a pillow, and carry a notebook and pen on me or in the auto, for those observations/ rants that inevitably cross my path.

I normally just come into this room, sit in front of the screen, and think back over the years? Or other times I will be busy doing something, then a memory will come rushing back to me for no reason, so I take a mantal note of it, unitl I get back on the computer

i 'suffer' from the dreaded Can't Remember Shoot disease and scribble notes, which i find days later and wonder what the hey they mean. at least with the notebook, they're in one place.

done that, bought another. keeping pens has been another problem.
SOMETHING IS EATING MY PENS !

There is a wee Toby jug on my desk, where I keep all my pens & stuff, and Im sure its eating them, as they always disappear

i may perhaps be missing something (not a rare occasion)but i'm missing a Post this week or something way beyond my grasp. 'my space' says i'm still here, but i have doubts about alot of things right now.
perhaps i need spare parts that are not in stock. (i always loved that one.)

Do you mean a post on the forum, page, or newspaper

i have no clue how to do graphics, was there an issue of the h2g2 Post this week with snippets, poems, cartoons and regulars?

Yea! that where all my Snippets go from my page. The poems have also been in but that was last year.
Have you tried joining in any other of the threads yet? You should, that way you will meet more researchers. If you are having any problems just get in touch with me ans I will try and help you

the last h2g2 Post i find is A4054268 from last week. i didn't see one this week, and will simply write my part of 'Did I Leave The Iron On ?' for the next Post deadline until Shazz or somebody tells me to stop. i read alot of h2g2 in my spare time, but don't......let's put it this way----i'd prefer to hide in the corner and backstage.
