A very humorous piece that is also informative and cleverly put together. Humour is a good way of putting important information across, it tends to both grab, and to hold the attention.
You are right about Billy Connolly when you say he USED to be funny! Now, I think, he is merely crude, often just filthy, appealing only to those of 'basic' intellect; and he uses his 'fame' as his only 'prop' or excuse, which will eventually fail him unless he reforms his act and uses his considerable acting talents again. (John Brown).
I hope you succeed in getting this accepted for PR. It is of a higher standard than a lot of the stuff we see shoved into PR.

I disagree about Billy Connolly. He's funnier now than he ever was, and funnier than anyone else on the planet.
This is an excellent piece on feet.

Anyone who has to rely on f**k and s**t and Ba**s in EVERY sentence in order to get a laugh is seriously disturbed and should seek psychiatric help!

What a great little entry. This is ideal EG material: it's funny and it's informative. All I would suggest is that you link to Mina's entry on How to Walk in Extremely High Heels.

I, too, like the entry 'as it stands'.. All I do not agree with in the entry is the publicity it gives to 'f**k me' Connolly.
I've given my other views, which are 'positive'.
If I am a 'Philistine' because I do not like Connolly's sick 'sense' of humour, then so be it.
Once was a time when humour was both clever and cleanly articulate!
'The Two Ronnies' 'Fawlty Towers' 'Open All Hours' etc.,etc.
It appealed to the intellect rather than the groin!!

Good Entry JinjerTom
We don't usually start an Entry with a Header, the Title is counted as the first header.
Maybe you could delete the "feet" Header and use 'footnote 1' as an introcduction to your Entry, rather than as a footnote.

Forgot to put in my vote for Billy Connolly, though he does sometimes go OTT with the swearing.
JinjerTom, forget what I said "as an introcduction to your Entry, rather than as a footnote."
Maybe use 'footnote 1' somewhere else in Entry. You already have a good intro.

Very Amusing! Good Entry!
I'm reminded of Forrest Gump's double amputee lieutenant's in-country Viet Nam earnest advice to always have a pair of clean dry socks available.
Never heard of the comedian Connaly, but free speech is something to cherish and this entry simply quotes one of his relevant thoughts about feet. But what's a Kellie? Lenny Bruce was a ground-breaker in this regard when he was unjustly jailed in the early 1960's for public profanity in his comedy act. By the way, I thought the term profanity had religious overtones and F**k, S**t and so on are mere vulgarities?
Good work!

Awsome entry! Really enjoyed it a tad to much actually. Anyway, all I can really think of is to add a few links to other guide entries. I am a fan of the whole interconnectedness (is that a word) quality of the guide. A few ideas for links would be:
A673319 - The Theory of Evolution - Part I (for the bit about Darwin)
A223750 - Toe Nails (cuz they are attatched to the foot)
A751358 - Reflexology (cuz it's mentioned)
A1155872 - Chinese Foot Binding (for the part about ill-fitting shoes)
A75683 - Diabetes - a Personal Perspective (because talking about foot care to a diabetic is a VERY important thing)
A271793 - Neuropathy (because it is mentioned)
and that's all I could come up with. Even without the addition of these links your entry is great! Nice start...

wellieA 'wellie' is a Wellington boot, a type of rubber boot which is completely waterproof and much favoured by farmers, anglers and people intimately acquainted with mud.

WOW -
I am flattered, amazed and grateful all at the same time!
I really did not expect such a great reception for my first attempt.
for all the suggestions and constructive comments - I will try to incorporate as many as possible without over-crowding the article.
As far a Billy Connolly is concerned, I seem to have opened a right can of s (nearest smiley I could find to a worm). I expected my comment to be slightly contraversial, but am gratified that so many share my opinion. For those who don't, I suppose there's still time!
Strange that there was zero reaction to my putting Jasper Carrott in the same category of "used to be funny". I can't stand watching him churn out the same old stuff over and over again!
Digiraver suggests some links - what is the best way of inserting these (to save me a little trial and error)?
Thanks again folks - keep 'em coming!

Links to other h2g2 entries are done as follows:
toe nails
The text 'toe nails' appears in your entry, but the full title of the entry will be automatically shown in the right margin. You should only link to Edited Entries. All the ones provided earlier are Edited.
Links to external sites use a different format. To link to Microsoft, for example, you put:
the ubiquitous Microsoft
The text 'the ubiquitous Microsoft' appears in your entry but the title 'Microsoft' appears in the right margin.
