As this is my first proper guide entry, I would welcome the panel's comments as to whether or not it could be submitted as a finished piece.

It's a good start.
There doesn't appear to be an Edited Guide entry on feet at the moment. I think you need to add a section explaining what feet are for. You also might like to mention the evolution of the foot from a grasping appendage to something which can't grasp. (I think that's the way it went, anyway).
All those little phrases you've listed; would you expand on each of them, or would you put an explanatory paragraph before them?

Fanx for the input!
I like the ideas for an introduction to Feet, from evolution to specialisation.
I had considered expanding on the phrases, but wanted to get something posted for starters. Now that you have confirmed that thought, I will work on it.
The entry was prepared offline using MS Word and included some footnotes - do you know how I can get those into the online version? Perhaps it's a GuideML thing...?

Hi JinjerTom, hope Gnomon doesn't mind me answering your GuideML question
You will need to learn GuideML to add Footnotes. A newbie friendly page is 'Buffy's Guide ML Help Page' - A2669051 it says it's for your Personal Space, but works the same on any Entry that has been changed to GuideML.
GuideML is easy-peasy, once you get the hang of it, but does take some getting used to, you may like to open another Entry and change it to GuideML and practice, before you change your Entry to GuideML.
If you have problems with it, give us a shout, someone will be around to help you out.
If you are intending to submit your Entry to Peer Review, when it is ready, there are some GuideML codes you can't use, no smileys, coloured or different sized fonts, and pictures.

Fanx Emmily
Funnily enough, that's the phonetic sound of my initials (MLE).
I'll take some GuideML lessons asap.

OK - lessons taken and suggestions incorporated.
I'd be grateful for further comments before finalising it as an entry?
Cheers.

If you're going to be submitting this to Peer Review with a view to getting into the Edited Guide (which I think you should), you should change the GuideML slightly:
For headings, you're using and capital letters. You should use normal case (Capitals at start of words, all the rest of the word lowercase), and use the and tags.
I'll let you know if I think of anything else.

I didn't reply earlier JinjerTom, I've been a bit busy. I've posted in the PR thread, though I'll just wish you here.

Very nicely done. As a person who's spent a lot of time on his feet, off his feet, breaking his feet and healing from various actions on his feet, I think this could really use a bit more on how to care for feet. Foot care's something I've learned to take very seriously. Why not put something in there on foot powders and anti-fungals? Appropriate inserts for everyone from office workers to soldiers? Even some tricks for buying a better shoe and breaking in good boots. I think it might really help round out the article. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks Erik
As it happens, I work for one of the top UK distributors of Chiropody and Podiatry products and equipment www.canonbury.com and so have access to lots of stuff on this subject.
I am just a little cautious of overloading the entry, but will see how much I can expand on this heading.
The entry is now in Peer Review and receiving some very helpful input there too.
Thanks again!
