I fixed a couple of Front Page glitches, patched "My Conversations" as best I can, and hopefully now the footnotes will be visible, too.

Traveller in Time from a Message Board account
"I can confirm the site of registration does not matter, all you have to do is select the < <./>/dna/h2g2/plain/</.> > skin and copy the style cheat in the lower text box on the < <./>UserDetails</.> > page. .
You know you have until September before the old board closes ? "

Yup, TiT, but the reason a few of us have decamped over here (well, I was here already, but that's another matter) is to find out what facilities a DNA site offers, spot what's missing and lobby for change before the new site goes "live".
We've already asked for the facility for bold, italic and underlined text in posts, which Peta says we'll get. That'll probably filter back to the rest of DNA...

It doesn't change the functionality of the site (well, it does in as much as it hides the smileys under the posting box... ) but it makes some feel more comfortable.
I'm using it myself for the moment, to see if I spot any bugs, but tomorrow night I'll be going back to white-on-black.

Traveller in Time recharging his Point Of View gun with brunel
"Do not _rush_ it, *insanity* is a /gradual/ process.
(It is called progress, nobody is waiting for any of these changes keep in mind some sites have closed completely to make way for the new )
Well, as 'Peta' explained, the actual /*tweeks*/ to mimic a more complete MUSTARDLAND feeling will only come after all boards have migrated. I guess Novembre for evaluation so not before Decembre.
NB, I suggested to reintroduce the makeup short after 1xtra started we will have to wait and see.

Peet have tried this several times since you posted and it doesn't work for me either - just gives me another version of plain text. However for me the Mustard colour is symbolic - just a heraldic device - it's the added ZING which I treasure.
If you could come up with a facsimile of time order though you'd be in line for the Nobel Peace Prize.

pj, I think I've figured out the problem; I'm hosting the css on my ISP's space, and not everybody's DNS seems to be set up to see it.
I'll figure out some options and get back to you.
Sorry I can't do anything with the time order; I can only play with the furniture.

pj (and others who couldn't get it to work) try the same instructions again, but use this stylesheet:
http://www.geocities.com/wierd-peet/mustard.css
Geocities has blocking on using pictures out-of-context, but a stylesheet *should* be OK. As I'm the account holder I'd be able to see it either way, so I need somebody else to try it and let me know it's OK.

I noticed yesterday that, while I'd addressed the backgrounds, I forgot to set a Mustardland font colour.
Those of you using the "Mustard" skin will already have noticed the change; for those who haven't tried it yet, go to:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/plain/UserDetails
In the section marked "Stylesheet", paste this link:
http://www.geocities.com/wierd-peet/mustard.css
Make sure the button marked "White" is checked.
Click "Update Details". You should now have h2g2 in a retina-burning Mustard theme. If it doesn't work for you, post here and I'll try to troubleshoot it.

Oops, dorgot to mention, you'll need to cut'n'paste that first link into the address bar of your browser; Jim has done sneaky things with the URLs on site...
(It *says* "plain", but when you click on it the link actually says whatever skin you're in, and this trick only works in plain.)

It has worked at last! Everytime I tried before it failed.
Thanks Peet!
