Good job! I've gone the "corset" route myself, now ... You *can* find decent store-bought corsets, if you keep an eye out.
Some bra companies are trying to make more comfortable straps, too, since too-tight straps are a significant source of headaches for business women.
No one I've known will go for a professional fitting because it sounds embarassing - but trust me, it's MUCH more pleasant than a trip to your OB/GYN!!

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho Posted Apr 8, 2005
I used to have a friend who was very large for her height (about 5'2") and build (thin). Although her breasts weren't bigger than a D, she usually went down the custom made route.
I noticed a couple of missing words:
"Band sizes are most often by even numbers"
"can result in 'spillage' of the breasts of the cups"
minimizers - minimisers
minimizing - minimising
"which is driven by the difference"
'which is derived from the difference'?
"which can look every bit as attractive on a large-breasted woman as on others"
I think I speak for a lot of men when I say that it can look a whole lot *more* attractive on a large-breasted woman.

Good entry.
Too small of a cup size --> Too small a cup size

There's a project on corsets in the Guide - C916 I'd suggest A594614 as a suitable one to link to.
Corsets should be bought 4" smaller than waist size (you don't have to pull them in 4" though!), and there are different ways of lacing them to emphasize hips, waist or breasts. I'm not sure if that's worth putting in. They do need practice to wear though, so I'd like to see that mentioned. You can't just put on a corset and wander off in the way that you can a bra, so I don't think corsets should be just casually mentioned.
It might also be worth mentioning that another sign of an ill fitting bra is when the back strap rides up, so it's higher than the bottom at the front. A properly fitted bra should be all at the same level. Do you want to add how a bust should be measured and how it's calculated? That would be useful, as some women might not realise how it's done.
Good entry though! My mum has big boobs, and she's always had a lot of back pain with them. Until recent years the biggest size she could find was DD, so the growth of the industry in making bigger bras was good for her.
More and more places are doing attractive large bras, you just have to go out and look for them - although they mostly seem to be on the internet, anyone reading this must have access to online.

Sorry, it took me a while to write that, and you've added a link to the intro on the corsets. I do think that the types of corsets and how to get them entry might be better though.

Ok, I think I've taken most of that into account. I'm not sure how much to add about corsets, though -- I don't want to duplicate what's already out there, and it is really complicated. Do you think it's ok with what I've added now, or should I put in some additional info?
Yes, more and more places do have larger sizes online these days, but it is still quite a struggle -- especially because what one place advertises as a 36K might well be a 36I by other standards.
I didn't want to go too in-depth on how cup measurements are done, simply because it differs to significantly between companies -- I have added some info, though, to give people a general idea.

Mikey, I'm going to unsubscribe from this thread now. This is not to express a lack of interest, or because I am cross or anything. I just don't want "Large Breasts" appearing at the top of my Conversations box on my work computer all the time. It might cause some heads to turn.
I'm sure this entry will sail through Peer Review, so I offer you my congratulations in advance.

May I observe the fact that of all the entries sent to my machine since I came to h2g2, this has had the most responses in the shortest period of time!
Need I say more!
Bound to get on the front page; but would it be for the right reasons?

I've added a conclusion of sorts, and also an external link that explains bra sizing a bit better.

It's looking good! I think you're probably right not to put in too much stuff about corsets - it's already on h2g2 for us to find anyway.
And I like the ending! When I was breastfeeding I did hold my own up in my hands occasionally, and they had only gone from a B to a C for a while.

'western society'
Should that be 'Western society'? I never quite worked out the capital or no capital thing for that.
This bit:
Activities that involve lots of bouncing.
I don't get why the paragraph that follows is still within the tags. It look a bit odd and is a covering paragraph for the entire list right?
'are often even willing to measure while you are fully clothed.'
That makes it sound uncommon to want to be fitted whilst still wearing your shirt. Many people do that don't they? Although it's always worth checking and not being worried about looking stupid if you walk out when they refuse to do it with your shirt on.
Oh also, in the UK I think the most common band sizes are 32-42(???) I'd like someone else to clarify that though.
Is there a link to be had for the organic cotton bras?
Is it worth mentioning that if you DO want to machine wash your bra then it's a good idea bunging it in a pillow case or something and tying the end up? This helps protect the underwiring so it doesn't catch on anything and tear through the bra material.
'The biggest disadvantage to the corset is that they often need to be custom-made to fit well'
You've gone from singular to plural here I think, 'The biggest disadvantage of corsets...' perhaps?
Holding chest in hands is also very useful for when running up the stairs, even if you are wearing a bra.
I'd like some links to places where I can find these bras, you know, online shops, companies that custom-make etc because I've always found it hard to find more than say one company at a time that I'd buy from.
Oh also (off entry rather) I was once buying new school shirts and the cashiers were talking and laughing about this woman one of them had been helping buy bras and they were being really really mean. So when I got to the front of the queue I just put my stuff on the counter and walked out. I never went back to the shop again because I hated the idea that they would talk about people so meanly infront of other customers.
So if you work in a shop remember to be mean out of customer hearing

I've never been sure on western/Western society either. If no one here is positive, I will leave it for the sub to handle.
Fixed the guideML typo on the bouncing booby bit.
For band sizes, 28/30/32 are most often worn by adolescents, with the average for women being 34-40. I don't want to go into that much detail here, though -- someone can write an entire entry just on bra sizes if they like.
The links for organic cotton bras are all commercial, and so wouldn't pass muster here. Same thing with the other comment about links to shops -- we can't do that here, sorry! I can show you when I get home, though.
Not all bras have underwires, actually -- and the larger you are, the less likely bras seem to be to have them. I'm trying to avoid going into too much detail here on things that are relevant to all bras in general, and focusing on things that are especially key for big boobie bras.
> Holding chest in hands is also very useful for when running up the

See folks, this is what happens when you have a hootooer stay with you -- all your odd daily habits come out for all to see.
