I've just had a look at some pictures, because I was going to just mention how the rope is laid out, when I realised that most of the women in the photos don't have big breasts at all. So I'm wondering if it's going to be so supportive after all. The ropes are wrapped round the body a couple of times, going underneath and over the top of the breasts, then the rope is taken round the back, looped under what's round the body brough up and over the shoulders, then looped round the rope between the breasts. It can be adjusted so that the breasts do stand up and out from the body, but I'm wondering if that is going to support larger breasts?

I'm a bit nervous of posting this link up here, because it's part of a larger site, but at least it gives you a picture to look at to see what I mean.

I've been pondering...is there an argument that not having a good bra (or any bra) with large breasts will cause back problems? Or increase current back problems?

I did my best to find a nice gentle website to link to... Sorry if it upsets - it's only a picture. Just don't click on anything!

Intersting link Mina, though possibly more bondage than bra IMO. I'd imagine it takes a lot of practice as well as another pair on hands to follow the steps and get it right. smiley - smiley

Sort of in answer to Kat, but not exactly (and not in the scope of Mikey's Entry) an extreme measure to medical problems due to large breasts would be breast reduction surgery, which I believe is becoming more common, and more easily available.

Well, it is bondage really, but you can wear it to support your breasts, so I thought I'd mention it. Mikey can decided if it's too much and leave it out, or put it in.

That particular arrangement of ropes is complicated - it can be done much simpler and is really easy to pick up. That's just the first picture I came across that I thought wouldn't freak people out with what was on the rest of the page or site.

My mum has been offered a breast reduction on the NHS because of back pain and has been refusing it for years. I'm not sure if that's because of wrong sized bras or not, but as I mentioned earlier, it's only in recent years that she's had a good choice. She used to be stuck with playtex DDs from catallogues. Her last bra cost her 60 quid. smiley - yikes

I will probably find a way to mention it, and add that it looks as if it probably wouldn't be supportive enough for really large breasts or those that sag -- looking at that pic, and doing some imagining, I can see it working well up to maybe an E cup, or maybe even an F.

The larger entry on large breasts that this entry was originally a part of will have a section on breast reduction.

Ok, so here's the current bit about the rope bra -- Mina, any suggestions on how to reword this less awkwardly would be welcome.

"Women into bondage have found creative ways of supporting (but not covering) breasts entirely with rope - while a breath of fresh air, this method may not be usable in daily life for most large-breasted women. Further, the support offered might not be adequate for those with sagging or extremely large breasts."

Sorry I haven't been around for a few days...

As for rope bras - having worn them (and rope thongs, and other interesting things) I can tell you that they are not supportive at all for large breasts! Fun, though, if you're interested in that sort of thing smiley - laugh
