A Conversation for Anorexia Nervosa

Bit of a grim one as we wouldn't want to be offering advice, but a basic entry on the subject would be quite useful. Any takers?

I was thinking of doing one on dieting and losing weight in general, but I would have left the anorexia to the doctors.

I'm surprised there hasn't already been a Guide Entry on this topic. I think it could be quite beneficial to many people.
Perhaps someone dealing with this problem might want to write about their own experiences?
I was once told by my GP that he was surprised, because of my personal history, I didn't end up being anorexic. Though I did end up having - and still have - many 'food issues' that are not particularly healthy.
So I would like to see something written on this subject.

I used to be so skinny my own mother thought I was anorexic. I just couldn't put the weight on Now, I have the opposite problem!

I'll tackle this one if no-one else wants to. I'm a research psychologist so I can tell you about the psychophysiology of the disorder but it probably won't have the same 'human interest' as if it was by someone who'd actually suffered from the disorder (which I haven't).
Your call people!

I studied it in Psychology, and was thinking about doing an entry but don't really have time. I'll dig out my notes for you, if it'll be any help.
I've got info on what the word means, clinical characteristics, that kind of thing, but you probably know all that.

This would be a good thing to have an entry on. A lot of other guide entries have general information, plus a few quotes from people sharing their experiences in italics, it makes for a nice well-rounded entry. I would offer to do this one, but in that case it would never get done. There are some entries we can link to as well.
