The best, funniest line in any film, ever:

"Gentlemen! You can't fight here! This is the war room!"

If you need to ask, you haven't seen it.

Yup, comes in 44th on the "Most Popular Movies" list per Zagat's survey of 8000 voters. I saw a "making of" documentary, when a scene worked, Kubrick looked really tickled.

I have a friend who claims to have seen it so many times he can recite the entire dialogue.

I'm not being a devil's advocate / troll here, but I genuinely think that Dr Strangelove is one of the most overrated films ever made. Every time I hear critics writhing with joy over it, I wonder if it's the same film I saw; a mildly absurd, somewhat surreal, very patchily funny, over-long, rather dated satire with a couple of endlessly quoted sub-Groucho-Marx witticisms. Admittedly I seem to be in a minority here (maybe I was just in a bad mood when I saw it).
