h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

You walk into a darkened room. It has been tastefully decorated to give it a film-noir look. It is the kind of room Lee Marvin or Frank Sinatra would feel right at home in.
To your left is a small stage on which some cool jazz is playing. To your right is a small-ish bar, selling many outlandish beverages.

Chrome101 himself is there, in his dinner jacket and black tie, eyeing up the clientele.

Hey, Chrome, don't mind me just sitting around in a table, eavesdropping, do you? Good conversation points are always great for a detective to have access to.

*curls up in the detective's hat for a quick (1 hour) catnap, then goes off to who knows where eventually returning to basket C101*

I always thought that having a sig was a pretentious bandwagonny thing to do (and I, along with Quorthon, hate bandwagons). But look at me now! I'll be an ACE next! Uuurrrgghh!

NOTE: I don't mean to badmouth the ACEs, it's just ... well, I can't see a very good reason for them.

At the moment, apparently, they're testing a new version of h2g2.

*Saunters over to the bar, which he notices is mostly a fuzzy grey nothingness owing to the fact that Chrome101 hasn't told the world what it looks like yet, and buys something outlandish from whoever's behind it.

~Ice walks in wearing his traditional black coat, clothes, and shades and takes a seat at teh grey fuzzy bar. He order an outlandish drink from the mysterious bartender before he turns around and leans against the bar surveying the lounge and sipping his drink~ Hello Chrome, this is a fine little place you have here. ~looks around again and sips his drink~ Hows the security? Such a nice place it really would be a shame if somthing were to happen to it. I mean with all the riphraphs running around and such a small staff working here... It really would be shame. ~sips his drink again and walks up to chrome with a cold indiffrence in his eyes~ As for you... ~Ice reaches into his coat deliberatly and pulls out a...~
~Crescendo of music~

~$20 dollar bill!!!~ Nice drink. Keep the change ~He then turns and walks out of the lounge, droping a black rose on the bar and saying as he goes through the door~ It really is a nice place, I'd hate to see something unfortunate happen to it...~voice trails off as he leaves into the night~

*Glances at Chrome*

Chrome, I hope Ice isn't implying anything. As the local Holistic Detective, I'd hate to have to arrest someone from STUMPED. They're really nice people once you look past the crime.

*Leaves for a while, and comes back with a robot that is comprised of a cylindrical head (purple), and several tentacle like arms. Sets it up behind the bar*

Until Chrome hires someone to be the bartender, I'm volunteering BarBot 2000 (from CLI) to be the bartender. When someone gets hired, I'll take 'im back to the CLI cafeteria.

BarBot, gimme some phlog. And remember, this is temporary.

*Hopes Chrome won't get mad at him for bringing in a robot to get him drinks*

*stares after Ice. Begins to hum the chorus of an infamous hip-hop song, but then stops himself.*
I wonder what he wants...

*Decides to take back any comments he has made about ACEs (not any particular ACE, just the whole collective of them) during the course of this thread, or any other thread, even though the Internet is a medium of free speech, and besides, some of his best friends are ACEs.*

Oh, and by the way, the bar is very dark, so that's why I haven't described it. Film noir, you see!

Ah. Oh, and just so everyone else knows: my phlog is non-alchoholoic, so those of you who need the real thing probably shouldn't try it. Also, it'd probably be bad to drink it if you don't practice some kind of magic or super-human ability on h2g2.

*decides to elaborate on the description.-
A pall of cigarette smoke hangs in the air, through which small beams of light stab down from the ceiling onto small tables, made of some opaque black substance. The tables are set around a long bar which runs almost the whole length of the room. It is set with smoked glass of varied colours. Behind it is the CLI BarBot. Across from the bar is a small stage, currently vacated.*

That good enough?

*Turns to BarBot and orders a bottle of Chug beer.*

*steps in, looking a bit uncertain about where to sit down*

There are seats around the tables (in case you were wondering).

*blush* Yes, of course... I was just thinking about something else... *quickly sits down hoping she just didn't make herself seem ridiculous*

Did you enjoy your sailing? I only happen to ask 'cause I've recently been on a sailing trip.

I took sailing lessons in June. Never could quite move up to the Katamaran, though.

Thought I'd stop in to see the place. I'd never heard of it before, very nice. Thought I'd see the kind of place you needed the outfit for chrome
By the way I am quite an avid sailor myself, i enjoy racing my little sunfish.
