So what does anyone know about Zowie Duncan Heywood Bowie? Apart from the fact that he was born on the 30th of May 1971 and his mom was Angela Bowie? I have also heard that he later changed his name to Joey Jones. Honestly, I like Zowie Bowie better! Is there anything else to know about him?

Okay, so I have another question, and a very pressing one! I have been trying to figure out how Zowie is pronounced. I didn't think there were any two ways about it, but then some other people got involved with the discussion and we ended up with two possibilities. I tried to find out online to solve our debate, but of course there was no pronunciation guide anywhere. So anyway, is it pronounced Zoë, to rhyme with Bowie, or Zowee, as in what they say in comic strips? Any theories, ideas, facts?

I know hardly anything about him... it's a great name though.
What I want to know is: what happened to Angela?

Athena, Muse of Philosophy -1+7+9*(3+0!)+0=42: On the BBC sessions CD that came out around 2001 just before he sings Kooks (from Honky Dory) John Peel asks Bowie to introduce it and between them Peel and Bowie explain that the song was written in response to the recent birth of Bowies son Zowie. Peel pronounces it the same as Zoë but tells the studio audience how it is spelt which they all chuckle at and Peel replies "I think thats pretty good."
Judging by the fact so little is known about Bowies son (in comparison to other pop stars offspring) you have got to hand it to him that he has kept his word in ensuring the lad gets as normal an upbringing as possible.

Angela Bowies biography is a pretty entertaining read. She does try and claim a bit too much at how she was the one responsible for a certain number of Bowies artistic decisions but it evokes the time and the social circles they moved in very well. The bit about the demon in the pool is very good as well.
Not sure what she is doing now though.

Just did a search in Google for "Angie Bowie" and "Zowie Bowie" and easily came across Angies website and a page on 5years.com with a photo of a 21/22 year old year old Zowie.
