Er...just re-reading my post there: 'tell people what you like' was meant to read as 'tell people what you admire'!

Natalie,
I'll be glad to change the content of the homepage from a wholly Sportdaq/Celebdaq theme.
A community has built up on the two Daq boards that are closing, and I'm just trying to continue that.
Any advice would be gladly received.
I love h2g2 and don't want to spoil it in any way. I could change the theme of the home page and include any warnings regarding contents of posts.

right so far as i can tell what Natalie is saying is that we can live here, we can be of general topic, we will all have a wonder about and talk about other bits in this site! and we can’t talk about celebdaq/sportsdaq! Which suits me fine cos we never really bothered with all that any way and this will stop all them “where are my divis” “all my money has gone” “where is the PD” posts all the time now those peeps will have to email the team and we won’t have to listen to them!
Also we must be respectful to one another and not enter into bad language or personal insults or you WILL be punished, by me then by the host team!
This right Natalie?

Stu and PFD, you've got it spot-on.
The whole thing is that we just have to be careful about libel and defamation, and the nature of those boards meant that the moderation was different. We really just wanted you to bear that in mind, and if you could put the warnings on your page that would be fabulous.
We fully understand the need for you to keep that community together - I'm sure you will, and I'm sure you'll find lots of new friends in here too.
Anyway, mingle and chat away... (my favourite's this one: Or perhaps )
And thanks very much indeed for your thoughtful cooperation.

Hi folks - finally found my way here. By the looks of it, this board is going to become the most popular noard on H2G2 in a very short space of time
Hello and welcome
Stu Posted Feb 18, 2005
Natalie,
Thanks for your reply!
Is there a specific wording I can use regarding the nature of posts? Or a help page that deals with it? Sorry for all the questions, I'm sure you've plenty to get on with!
I'm changing the theme of the home page I set up. Any suggestions as to what theme I should use PFD?

Natalie Posted Feb 18, 2005
Thanks so much chaps.
Regarding wording, I'm sure that whatever you put would be fine - if we were doing it it would just be something along the lines of 'Please note: Though we're a group of people who met through Sportdaq and Celebdaq, this is not meant to be either of those groups in a different setting - due to moderation differences we have to take extra care not to post anything that may be libellous or defamatory. For guidance, the h2g2 House Rules are here: A516034.'
Just a general awareness is what we wanted really - and it seems like you've really taken that on board. We're very happy to meet you, and are sure you'll fit in just fine around here.

Blade,
Click on the Preferences button at the top. You can change your nickname there. You can also change the style you view the site in. I use Alabaster.

Whatever 'skin' you decide to use for h2g2 is entirely up to you - however, the 'default' one (and the one we use to program everything) is Brunel.
Glad to see you lovely new chaps and chapesses finding your way around the little quirks and eccentricities of our site!
Paully
