You don't need to know the odd-even rule, you sort of pick it up as you go along.
In Star Trek VI, Nobody wanted to eat the "Klingon" food (squid dyed blue) so director Nicholas Meyer offered the cast $10 for every bite they took. Will Shatner made $300.

NPY Posted Feb 8, 2005
they'd have to pay me a heck of a lot more before i'd eat it. it's blue, it's cold and it's fish. i hate fish!

NPY Posted Feb 8, 2005
true. he's got a bit of an ego. did you know that the cast used to hate william shatner?

GodBen (The Magical Astronomer) - 00000011 Posted Feb 8, 2005
Lots of people hate William Shatner.
Did you know that Leonard Nimoy was best man at one of Shatners weddings. And Brent Spiner was Patrick Stewarts best man.

NPY Posted Feb 8, 2005
really? everyone's everyone elses best man.
i heard that the blokes from tng formed a band with brent spiner on lead vocals and the rest backing. think they were called something loike "sunbeams" or something like that.

NPY Posted Feb 8, 2005
i'll have to look it up to confirm what they called themselves.

GodBen (The Magical Astronomer) - 00000011 Posted Feb 8, 2005
I never heard that, and I don't think I want to hear them either!
Yes, they guy in the original pilot epised (The Cage) was Jeffery Hunter. There is a great line from Family Guy where Stewie is playing Jesus in a play and says to the audience "Hello, tonight I'll be playing Jesus, a part once portrayed on the screen by Jeffery Hunter. You all know him as the guy who was replaced by William Shatner on Star Trek. Apparently he was good enough to die for all our sins, but he wasn't quiet good enough to chat up green women."

GodBen (The Magical Astronomer) - 00000011 Posted Feb 8, 2005
But was there any green women in Star Trek? I know there was one in The Cage, but was there any in the main series?

NPY Posted Feb 8, 2005
think there was. i've a vague memory of one wanting to kill kirk or chop off spock's ears or something.

GodBen (The Magical Astronomer) - 00000011 Posted Feb 8, 2005
Well I wouldn't know. I never saw the original series.
Beam me up, Scotty
NPY Posted Feb 8, 2005
you never saw it?!?! poor you. you have to wach it if you get the chance. special effects were probably great at the time, but are kinda naff now, but still you should watch it.

GodBen (The Magical Astronomer) - 00000011 Posted Feb 8, 2005
No, the special effects were poor for even the 60s. It was a low budget show.
I've seen a few episodes, and The Cage of course. A few weeks ago BBC2 showed the first one, "Where No Man Has Gone Before", on Doobry (Saturd*y) morning and I thought that they were going to show the whole series so I was going to watch them there. But they only showed that one.
