Rich, for some reason I appear to be in two divisions in the Twenty20 cup. Are you expecting me to come bottom of both of them? Or are you trying to elevate my chances?

Tsch. You offer someone a leg-up, and this is the thanks you get.

You're probably right. Although I think you were more upset at being 'accidentally' included in the Scouse division...

Ho yus! Can't stand the buggars! When they call in on the football phone-in on Century FM I just have to mute it.

Don't start just yet - potentially you could meet one in the final. Potentially.

I don't think any of us in the scouse division are actually scouse are we? Alfredo's from Warrington. I live and gre up in Warrington having been born in Worcester, and I can't remember who the third person in the group is.

Can I suggest that this group is re-named the 'Itinerant Group' if the whining continues?

JulesK isn't a southerner. SBE isn't an Aussie. If I called it the Mersey Division, would you be happier?

I was born within spit of Liverpool Cathedral ... so I might actually qualify for more than one division too

If we're going to quibble, then I'm not Southern. I merely put myself in said division when suggesing this (apparantly bloody stupid) idea to make up the geographical numbers.

I was born in the same hospital that John Lennon was born in (I don't think it's there any more); but I'm not a real scouser either, as I grew up in Widnes. Although by the sounds of it, that was the closest out of the three of us...

If I'd drawn up the groups at the time, they would've been teams 1-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12 in the league and would have been pretty much along these lines anyway. It's just more fun to have geographical divisions, however arbitrary, and I don't think it's a big deal. I thought it was quite a clever idea at the time, and I still do now. So you're stuck with it, I'm afraid.
Nice namecheck, Andy

I was brought up in Bromborough, which is a darned sight closer to Liverpool than Widnes as the crow (or BAC1-11 which used to go straight over our chimney pots into Speke) flies.
However, I am happy to be in the Antipodean group... just as I am also happy to quibble away gently
