*SG-3's mission site an 'abandoned' Naqahdah mine*

*Major Fretts steps out the gate and runs forward to the dial up, drops to one knee behind it. Head and gun resting over it he starts to scan the immediate vincinity. As he does this more members of the unit come through and take up positions around the gate. In seconds they are all through*

*Five of the team spread out and take more advanced positions. The Major checks there is no problems with the dial up unit. The other four start to set up a temporary camp*

*With everything in order and the area around the gate secured by one half of SG3, the major and the other four men start a half pace jog down the single path leading from the gate. The major is twenty yards ahead on point*

*The track narrows and leads through a small woodland, Major Fretts slows down and holds his hand up. The other commandos slow to a walk. Major Fretts starts walking into the woodland keeping the twenty yard gap*

*Staff weapon fire hits the nearest tree, 5 jaffa bearing the symbol of Ba'al come running into view*

*the Major rolls diagonaly off the path, across to the nearest tree. He retuns fire onto the Jaffa. One of them falls*

<why do jaffa always charge an enemy instead of ambushing them>

*The rest of the team spread out and run into the woodland to outflank*

*The Jaffa march towards SG-3 firing staff weapons*

*Major Fretts keeps his head down as all the jaffa walk to and fire on his position. The four other members of the team with him advance through the trees on either side of the jaffa waiting till they are level...then fire apon them from either side. All the jaffa fall within yards of one another. Once the staff weapons go silent Major Fretts stands up and inspects whats left of the other side of the tree he was behind*

*It is eerily calm- the sound of battle has frightened the wildlife into silence.*

*Major Fretts takes his comm and radios the team at the gate*

//Hostiles found in area 5K south from your location, 5 Jaffa neutralised. Anyone within 5 to 6 kilometres will have heard. Any futhar hostiles may approach your position//

*To the rest of the team*

We'll continue to follow the path, but this time we'll stay just off it within the trees on the right hand side.

*The five men set off again*

*SG 3 collect up all there stuff plus the newly aquired Naqahdah and head through the gate*

*The Gate opens and the Colonel stumbles out, runs to the DHD and dials another planet*
